BF1, TF2, or CoD IW? If you could only pick one?

Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2 and CoD IW, they all seem good FPS games for different reasons. I do love the BF series, and I do like the CQC style of the CoD series. I've never played Titanfall, but it's reviewing really well.

I want to get one of these game, but I'd like to hear some of your opinions before I choose.

Apologies in advance if this starts a war in this thread :D

Why would it start a war?

I don't think people are going to argue over which is better. Now if you had asked which was least shit, that may start a disagreement.

Having never played the other two I can confidently state Titanfall 2 is the best one and the one you should go with.

Titanfall 2 and Battlefield are both superb.

Titanfall is a hyper fast paced arcade game. Sprinting around, running on walls, double jumping. With giant robots. Short rounds, with small (6v6) teams, full of chaotic action.

Battlefield is a squad based shooter which means you really need to work as a team. Rounds are really long (often 30 mins). The combat is absolutely epic. The feeling of being stuck in a bombed out building with your squadmates, as shells rain around, is something you dont get in any other game. Games can be 30 v 30 - its huge.

Dont know about COD this year. Demo was a bit limp though.

Infinite Warfare – Excellent campaign, shit multiplayer.
Titanfall 2 – Pretty good campaign, very good multiplayer.
Battlefield 1 – Not even bothered with the campaign after the first dull mission, excellent multiplayer.

    Take your pick.

I'm kind of leaning towards Battlefield 1. Seems to be the safest choice. The futuristic themes are a little bit of a turn off for me, and then there's wall jumping and sliding about backwards... I'm not sure if I'm ready for that :D

I suppose it depends if you're getting the 'Legacy Edition' of COD or not. If you ARE, I would recommend that over the other two because you're getting :

    - Two excellent campaigns
    - One great MP and one average one
    - A great zombies mode

    It's the better package.

If it's a straight shot between the three vanilla versions of each game though, it's between Battlefield and Titanfall 2. Both have superb (but very different) multiplayer, but Titanfall 2 has the much better campaign.

Do you like slower-paced, large scale battles on huge maps with limited mobility, or do you like fast-paced arena-style combat with ludicrous mobility?

All comes down to personal preference.

Makes sense. Battlefield is great, and a lot more gritty and tactical 'boots on the ground' warfare.

The other two are futuristic sci-fi 'twitch' shooters...

Don't get Battlefield for the single player though. It is all about the multiplayer.

I did make this choice and picked Titanfall.

If you want something different, give Titanfall a go. If you have played COD or Battlefield before you know what you are getting there.

Sounds like a veiled insult. Really not meant that way but I'm sure most people know what they are getting with COD and Battlefield.

Of course anyone who disagrees is a tit.

I have both Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2.

I'm enjoying Titanfall a lot more if truth be told.

It's hard for me to juggle two competitive shooters (3 when I jump back into siege), I'll probably drop one of the games and the way I feel right now, that could be BF1

Have no interest in CoD but I own the other 2 and if I could only keep 1 it would be Titanfall 2. Its just more fun to me, Battlefield can get frustrating at times.

If I could only pick one I'd not pick any. Didn't say I *had* to pick one.

If I *had* to pick one I'd pick Titanfall. It looks completely different to the usual run and gun FPS shooter, which BF1 and CoD look exactly the same as.

I have both BF1 and TF2. Both are very good, but (to my surprise) I've hardly touched BF1 since I started playing TF2, it really is great fun. Might pick up CoD later in the year.

Titanfall 2 is the perfect grab & go online shooter imo, which is all I really have time for what with working shifts/family life.

It doesn't take very long to find and join a game, and the rounds don't overstay their welcome.

I much prefer the shorter bite sized rounds compared to Battlefields (at times!) epic rounds.

Arrr now you are swinging me into a Titan! As a father of 3 (ages 2, 3 & 5), the short blast pick up and play aspect is really appealing!

With all the positive reviews and your good point, I'm now leaning towards TF. I've heard the SP eases you into the game's mechanics too. i.e. Wall jumping and all that acrobatic stuff that looks daunting to a 40 year old :D

I've only played Battlefield, but I'm having a cracking time with it.

I don't need no mech when I can commit horse murder.

Really want to get the CoD 4 remaster but refused to pay 65 quid for it. Tried the IW beta and it was truely awful! Worse than AW which itself was shit.

Got BF1 and it really good. better than BF4. Want Titanfall too though.

    @gizzaciggy

Don't worry, I am 41 and almost permanently drunk and I can handle the wall running and jumping stuff. It's not that difficult really, and you can have loads of fun just bombing about like a cat with mustard on its bollocks. It's all silky smooth.

Watch a videoof the gameplay. If you watch it and think 'whoa - that looks ace' then you will be alright...

If I buy both, I'd just be hopping between the two like a spoiled brat. I've already got loads of games I've not opened yet due to riding the hype train and not getting off to smell the pixels.
