Are you using the RJ45 port or the X1 port?

What Zizou said. That should solve it.

Serious answer: Google what ports GTA uses, and change your connection settings to match. I had a similar thing happen after a Street Fighter V update.

Do you have a router supplied by Virgin, Iagree? I do, and if the wi-fi is set to it's highest speed setting, it won't connect. By setting it down to the middle (there are 3 options in the settings), the issue was resolved.

I realise it's very, very unlikely to be the same issue, as you'd also have to be with the exact same broadband provider as me, with exactly the same model of router, using wi-fi and with the settings on default, but I thought it was worth saying anyway, just in case :)

If it's the issue I had:

Go to 192.168.0.1 in the browser of any device linked to the router. Log in (default password is on the base of the router). Once logged in, go to Adavnced Settings bottom right. It'll warn you stuff, so click through. At the top there's an option "Wireless Radio" for both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands - click that and you'll get the options for wireless speed. Anything but the fastest sorted my issue, so change the one your console is connected to and save changes.

As I say, might not even help, but you can revert the changes if they don't.

Don't worry about switching bands, that shouldn't be the issue. Stick with 5GHz, but set it the middle speed. It was the router being set at the highest speed that stopped GTA5 working for me.

It'll look roughly like this: Screenshot

For the model I have, it has all those option duplicated below itself for 5GHz too. I believe there's also a model that just has a toggled between 2.4 and 5, but if that's the case ignore it and just set it to the middle speed. If it's the same issue (and as I keep saying, it's very unlikely), that'll sort it.

Lol no. Pretty sure this is an isolated issue at the user's end.
