    It's ok though because Cohen welcomed death.

    He was a lot like my granddad in that regard.

    We can only hope it wasn't too uncomfortable for him.

    Gutted, was one of my favourite artists. Have all his albums bar the new one and read his novels. Saw him at the NEC a couple of years ago, stunning, had the whole arena enraptured.

    RIP Len

    I saw him a few years ago live... glad I did. Just amazing music. RIP.

    His song that was the theme for the second series of True Detective was the only good thing about the show.

    RIP :(

    Died on Monday according to wiki. If true, I'm impressed none of the harbingers of death on twitter started banging on about it before yesterday, when it was officially noted.

    I remember seeing black and white footage of a solo Lenard Cohen performance from the 60s in my teens and I was fascinated by the intensity of the performer, there was no artifice, it was just a man with an acoustic guitar.

    @sirtacos

    I can relate to that. If an elderly person wants to die and just gets worse and worse after that health and mood wise, death is eventually a relieve.

    Actually feeling guilty about how sad this makes me. The kind of poet who could gut you with the single phrase.
