Ok folks. I'm looking for the best poss mp3 tag editor - I used to use Id3tagit on the PC which was excellent, but I've not really done this natively on a mac before...

Any suggestions ? I believe editing in iTunes just edits the database rather than the embedded tag ?

Regardless, I'd love some of the cool features such as CDDB look up etc, and I've even tried searching this forum.

What do the mac'ers here use ?

Even if it does - ti's one track at a time. The windows app I used sorta allowed batch edits etc - which was much more useful.

Also it could look up CDDB itself given a string then dump the info into a block of mp3 files.

I've been using itunes - but it's a slow business - and files jump around like buggery when you've added info....

Itunes does edit the ID3 tag and you can batch edit by selecting as many files as you want and choosing File->Info or simply Apple+i.

id3tagit is great though - far better than iTunes, though iTunes can indeed batch edit. Just a thought - I haven't tried this myself - but have you had a go with Automator? It's incredibly useful for making batch changes to stuff.
