Started this on Sunday and only into Day1. Amazing levels of detail in everything. No doubt take my time with it and maybe look at ng+ on the PS5 when the time comes.

Think Iím about 5 hours in, just really enjoying scavenging around and getting way too pleased when I find supplies! Visuals just get better and better. Starting to uncover more weapons now, stayed away from spoilers so everything thankfully is new to me.

Finished last night. Must have been a 40+ hours play through. So, so good. May go for NG+ which will be a first for me - never NG+'d any game before.

I finished it a few days ago at 36 hours. I felt like I spent ages just looking around and trying to soak everything up. Absolutely loved it, and somehow avoided ALL spoilers .. Iím so glad I played it without letting other peopleís opinions influence my enjoyment of something..

Yep, basically the same. In fairness, it wasn't that difficult to avoid the spoilers - although I did actively try. Just don't read gaming forums and avoid gaming social channels for a 10 days around release.

Really worried it's all coming to an end for me now. Cant imagine there is much left. I am now at a farm.......

It is a bit long and stuffed but when it's this good does that matter?

Apologies if this has been asked before but is there an enhanced version coming to PS5?

I havenít played TLOU2 or GOT yet and being so close to next gen I thought I may as well hold out a little longer if there is indeed upgrades.

I have a PS4 Pro - just never got around to picking it up yet

Thereís no confirmation about next gen upgrades or enhanced versions to 1st party titles. Itís not typical of new console releases so thereís no reason to believe Sony will do so, though they may surprise us.

It's weird that people expect it. Why don't you just play a fantastic game now rather than potentially missing out?

@ZuluHero I didnít Ďexpectí it. But seeing how TLOU 1 got a remastered version on the PS4 I thought Iíd check as itís so close to the PS5 launch.

Iíll pick it up now so

The TLoU Remaster was prep for Uncharted 4 (learning tools and tech as well as trying to get a bigger audience considering how popular the PS4 was). Their next release is, presumably, years away, so it may not be the same need.
Saying that, they may do it just to do it.

There wasnít a lot of 1st party remasters on PS4. TLoU, the Uncharted trilogy (by Bluepoint, the studio currently working on Demonís Souls), and God of War 3. I think that was it? MS are obviously making a big deal about upgrading their stuff but I wouldnít expect it from Sony. Would be nice though.

@shuffles Not you particularly, just quite a few people have said it now like it's a matter of fact.

Glad you've decided, especially as you already have a pro, you're in for a treat! :)

A 60fps mode on PS5 would take this game to a whole new level. Even at 1080P or a checkerboard solution I'd love it.

For a PS5 upgrade I'd imagine that within the console launch period we'd get a "simple" res bump to native 4K and an outside chance of a 1080P/60 mode. Obviously the quicker load times too.

Expect to see this on the more recent big first and third party games. For example PS4 Spiderman has a 60fps mode if booted on PS5. Very similar to what we get with Pro and X enhanced versions currently just another brute force notch up.

A year or so after launch we'll have some "proper" boxed PS5 versions of select PS4 games - hopefully with a fairly priced upgrade fee if you already have it and some developers just giving it away.

This is where we'll see the raytracing, new post processing and AA, higher resolution textures, dualsense additions etc. CD Projekt have said this is how it'll work with Cyberpunk.

So anyone waiting to play recent PS4 games on the PS5 will have a long wait for the proper next gen version. If you're going to wait 3 months for an upgrade why not wait 12 months for a much bigger jump? It's the dilemma I've got with Cyberpunk...I know I'll only ever have one play through so kinda want all the bells and whistles.

Of course they'll re-release it for the PS5. As if they'd leave that money on the table.

It will most likely be how they release Factions.

    @richardiox
Itís not Spider-man PS4 getting the 60fps mode, itís Miles Morales which is launching on the PS5.

Haven't they pretty much confirmed there'll be a boost mode for PS4 games on PS5?

I think they said that they expect the extra grunt would help games run better but thatís not the same thing as next gen upgrades, perf/res modes and re-releases.

Ed: but in some cases it breaks them, which is why theyíre doing the testing of titles.

As Derbs says I think Sony have simply said games will work on PS5 and might run better. As in less frame or resolution drops. Essentially as the developers intended them to run.

There is nothing about high res texture packs or any other boosts.

I played this on a povvo PS4 and it was wonderful. Looked amazing, not just because of the pixels but because the art team did an exceptional job. Really one to play ASAP imo.

PS4 needed the remasters because it wasnít day one backwards compatible with PS3 games. The case for putting more effort into PS4/PS5 games is not there, but Iíd be surprised if they donít at some point make at least a cursory patch to the games on PS5, maybe to better make use of the fast loading times?

The faster loading times will happen regardless. Loading a game from a ssd is significantly faster than on a hdd.

    Finished. I have a problem...

This game is so good and does so much to elevate the medium, that I can't see myself playing anything else - especially nothing story driven.

A replay of TLOU followed by NG+ on TLOU2 it is then.

Just finished this after binging over two weekends and absolutely loved it. Despite TLOU1 having a pitch-perfect ending, I thought overall this one had a much more satisfying storyline.

It's easy to nitpick the things a great game doesn't quite right but:

I really enjoyed the mini-open world section but it was pretty strange that that they only did it once. Felt a bit like a focus group experiment as to whether to go fully open world in TLOU3

I enjoyed Abby's story more than Ellie's. They do a great job of making you hate her in the opening act but I was fully on her side by the end. The narrative shift was a bit jarrning though. I wonder if it would have worked better with a different chapter structure, i.e. playing each characters day in turn rather than splitting the story into two separate halves, concluding with the theater scene.
