Ooh, now that was rather clever. I think I need to keep that recording and watch it again so I can figure most of it out (only figured out they were speaking in rhyming couplets after they told you they were).

What more can you ask for, clever and funny?

Having only just started watching this show in the last couple of weeks, that was a surprisingly light-hearted episode!

True, this show is usually a little more twisted than that, but that's the joy of this series - no two episodes are really the same in any way.

That new episode was brilliant, all the macabre twists and turns and the farce element. Plus the setting was perfectly played.

When you think they've run out of new ideas, they turn out something like that. Excellent stuff

Enjoyed the reference to Psychoville on tonight's episode.

Must've missed that. What was it?

Passable episode that, nicely poignant. Not clever enough to deserve a rewatch unlike the samaritans one or the crossword one or even last week's one, but there's only usually one of two of those per series.

Very clever episode that, will have to give it a second viewing.

On a side note, I'm glad this series is now finally being released on Blu-Ray from series 1; it irked me that the previous series only got DVD releases. This is one of the few series that I'd like to own even after having seen it all on TV (usually I buy stuff on recommendation that I haven't yet seen).

Very good episode stylistically, but there were plotholes aplenty when I talked about it with the missus.

    I still enjoyed it though.

Enjoyable macabre episode, with an only slightly predictable final twist. This show definitely shares some DNA with Tales of the Unexpected from back in the day.

I revisited the 'Andrew Lloyd Webber' episode (officially 'Once Removed'). Very tightly put together, having reassembled it in reverse on a scrap of paper. I think the only thing that slips is the daughters plan to have someone round to fake the estate agent, but in the end it's the killer the estate agent ends up dealing with. And maybe slightly how come the removals man still ends up at number 6 with everything in its boxes even though it's now indicated as number 9. Must be relying on his phone's GPS I guess.

Someone cut the episode and rejoined it into the correct order if you fancy watching it that way round.

In case anyone's reading, something I didn't quite get in the final episode: Wouldn't Pemberton's character have been more shocked at discovering the 'suicide' tape, given he knew the homeowner to have been alive after the tape was recorded?

Series 5 has been confirmed, can't wait!

The best actress episode was the worst ever, absolutely dire, but a great series apart from that. Glad there'll be more.

Yeah I didn't love that one but I think it is one of Shearsmiths favourites.

Agreed, thought it was a very poor episode, great series overall though.

Agree it was the weakest this series, but I still enjoyed it.

Solid end to the series. Think I enjoyed the 80s TV double act and the hotel episodes the most and appreciated the best actress episode the least. The 10 minutes earlier episode was brilliant too. Generally a very high standard across the run.

The 'best acress' one ('and the winner is') I enjoyed for the characters, but the twist didn't impress me at all, not that it really detracted from what had gone before it as a comic character study.

Somewhat similarly, the twist in the newest one was kind of an 'oh' ending too, but the build up was still good fun. For me the most complete episodes in terms of character, script and twist are the hotel one and 'moving on'.

@mal Maybe I missed something in the final ep but I still find the final reveal (at least one of them) a bit unsatisfying for the reason I spoilered in my earlier post.

I still enjoyed it, though; really liked the claustrophobic setting and build up.

Yeah, I agree; that's what I meant by saying it had an 'oh' ending, as you and others have already explained what's problematic about it. The very ending with Planer coming back was good though.

I really thought that the final episode was going to go with something like either the girl or Shearsmith and Pemberton were fakes on the rob or the whole thing would have been some kind of set up by them on her.

When it turned out that it actually was the supernatural thing I think I was more surprised that it was as straight forward as that than anything else. Still, lovely to see Nigel on TV again.

    Favourites this series:

The hotel corridor one and the one about the comedy double act reunion.
One for its pace and wit the other for getting the onions out.

But then one of my overall favourites of the entire series was the balloon one from the first series and everyone else I know thinks that is totally 'meh'

The rabbit from the last episode featured in every episode this series. God knows how people notice this stuff.

There's a few things like that, aren't there? The whole thing must be a total black hole of easter eggs and dvd commentary nuggets

Like all the Black Mirror shared universe stuff
