Absolutely loving The Boys. Is there plenty of material in the comics to make a few more series?

Having read a brief synopsis of the comics, yes, it appears that there's potentially loads more to come.

Just watched episode 4. So good.

Butcher and his little ramble about the Spice Girls
    Deep and the dolphins
The whole highjacking and crash part with Homelander was just utterly chilling and dark

It has significant differences from the comic (while maintaining the general concept) so I suspect they will head down their own path

I actually think the show is better, the comic started off great but kinda went off the rails. I think Ennis has a tendency to go over the top (or so I gather), the show seems more 'grounded' believe it or not.

On a 70 issue run, they got HL properly flipping out at about 50 odd issues into it, so I would guess there's just one more series left in it.

The comics have them more of a supe police force with a several issue long case they are working. For example, one arc has them infiltrate their analogue of The X-Men, the G-Men, because Professor G uses it as a front for a pedophile ring.

Nailing the seven is the overarching plot but it mostly runs in parallel to the b-plots, whereas the series is just the main story.

I mean, they may be doing a preacher style prequel leading to that and it may become procedural, and kick on for a few more series but I doubt it .

AFK (series about gamers being stuck in an mmo as their characters) wasnít too bad. Not great (first season only) but I still wanted to watch it to the end. Lead character was good as was the main proponent. Budget constraints showed and Iím not sure someone who hasnít played a lot of mmos would have enjoyed it.

    6.5/10 maybe.

Apparently they developing an Event Horizon series. I loved the film and it would be cool to explore the concept further, so quietly hopeful it will be interesting.

That could be great. Googling it there shows that the film has 27% on Rotten Tomatoes. What the fuck.

It's probably Paul Anderson's best film but I think that's an accident of having decent designers on board. The plot and direction are his usual bollocks.

It's a neat premise, but would need a lot more on it to make a good TV series imo.

I'd like to see more about the other side, rather than just it's after effects.

Probably his best film? Has he made anything else remotely decent?

No, Mortal Kombat, referring to the musical theme from the movie Mortal Kombat, would like to say hello.

Because I don't remember anything else about it, aside from Christopher Lambert slumming it up.

My favourite take on Event Horizon is that its part of the Warhammer 40k universe and the ship flies through the Warp.

Aaaaaanyway, I do like it and I would have liked to see the DC, had they let hom finish it but I would never have picked it for a series in a million years and Im glad they did.

Agreed. I ended up seeing this on YouTube a few years ago. Really enjoyed it.
Also liked parallels by the same guy. Nothings really come of them which is a shame.

If you pause the film at 1.12.46 you can see Sam Neil's dick.

    That took the score down.

Is that time accurate for the blu-ray as well?
    Just for information.

Finished the last episode of The Boys last night. Properly enjoyed the shit out of that. Homelander as a character is fantastic to watch and is getting darker and more twisted.
