Yup. Odyssey was great but unfocused. I grew fonder of it on replays but 3d world is for me the better game and a stunning achievement that didn't get the praise it deserved for being 'just an upscaled 3ds game due to Nintendo not wanting to commit to the WiiU platform'. I would jump on a Switch port. |

Registered 13 years agoAgreed. The Wii U had so many great games. The marketing was just so confusing. I actually play it more than the Switch. -
I loved my WiiU.
Nintendoland, 3d World, 101 and Pikmin 3 all lost to that console unless they do ports.
Still waiting on the 'finished Pikmin 4' that EG reported on years ago yet never addressed since. -

Registered 5 years agoSuper Mario 3D World is excellent. It's basically Super Mario Bros 3 in 3D. The design philosophies are exactly the same. Levels are short assault courses that expand simple ideas and then discard them at the end of each level. It's not as difficult as I'd like, but it's still great fun to play through. -

Registered 13 years agoNintendo are a secretive (and weird) organisation. I'm very curious about what went wrong with Metroid Prime 4. -
Outsourcing to Namco probably led to lack of quality. Look what happened with Team Ninja and to a lesser extent that 3ds game.
Bringing it back to Retro shows that they want this to be a tent pole release. -

Registered 5 years agoI quite liked Other M. The story was poor and unnecessary. The lack of nun-chuck made movement awkward. However, the rest of it was a solid experience, I thought. Easily the weakest in the series, but far from a bad game. -
Considering Metroid is responsible for some of the best games consigned to silicon 'okay' isn't good enough for most fans and certainly won't be a great argument for any virgins to take the chance on it.

Registered 14 years agoI don’t rate 3D World at all. Enjoyed Odyssey far more but share the criticism that it is unfocused. (The Galaxy games are the pinnacle for me.)

Registered 5 years agoControversial, perhaps, but I enjoyed it more than Metroid Prime 2. Now that game was a chore! I don't mind the idea of a light/dark world, but breaking it up into small repetitive chunks is not the way to do it. -
