I've noticed my Hori screen protector is slightly coming away from the edges when I took the Switch out of the dock the other day. Was wondering if these Orzly screen protectors are better and if so, are these the ones you lot have been ordering.

I ordered 2 Orzly joycon grips for 5.99 on Amazon. Hopefully they'll make local MP Mario Kart sessions a little more comfortable. The Orzly case and screen protector have been good quality so I thought I'd stick with the strangely named brand.

@Pazie Yes I'm looking at buying those Orzly tempered glass screen protectors too.

I'm also looking at the various Switch carry cases. The official case seems to be 17 and includes a screen protector too. I just don't know how good the included screen protector is.

Considering the Orzly screen protectors are 9 for a pair it seems a bit crazy not to go for a carry case + screen protector for 8 more, although the Orzly screen protectors are tempered glass, easy to fit, and are highly rated.

I got official case with screen protector. Was hard to apply (cover shield split in two so I got half on then had to stop and pull other plastic bit off). Orzly one is night and day better. Thick and super shiny, my screen still looks amazing. Don't mind the case though.

+1 for the Orzly screen protector. It's a quality bit of kit and well worth it. Their prices seem to go up and down all the time though.

Thanks for the feedback on the Orzly screen protectors. I'm going to order a pair.

So the Orzly joycon grips are fairly good. I tested them on Mario Kart and it feels a little better than the joycons alone for longer local mp games. A minor complaint is that you have to press more on the inner part of sl and sr to register a press. If you press just on the edge it doesn't work. Decent for 5.99.

Can anyone recommend a carry case that's available in the UK via Amazon?

I'm looking at a few hard shell ones but struggling to pick between any of them.

The Hori licenced case looks half decent. The Orzly one looks OK but a bit cheap looking and maybe not that sturdy.

    @Zerobob

The Orzly one is really sturdy but pretty big with space for extras in it.

The only thing that puts me off that case is some reviews say the straps look a bit flimsy (which they do on YouTube) and many reviews state the case has a heavy plastic smell, enough to stink out a room. Bit worrying.

    @Zerobob

Mine smells fine and the strap is ok but I wouldn't call it super strong. To be fair I've never picked it up with the strap, it goes in my bag. As with anything some people will have issues. The main issue is the large size in comparison to other cases.

I've got the Orzly case and it's absolutely fine, the straps do the job and I wouldn't consider them flimsy, they're just like elasticated straps in any other case.

I've got the Orzly case and I'm very happy with it, lives in my work messenger bag. I haven't noticed any smell of heavy plastic.

I would recommend their screen protectors as well, nice thick glass with a real quality finish.

    Right then I bought:

2 Pack Nintendo Switch Grip Kits [Wear-Resistant] Joy-Con Grips Thumb Grips Handle Protect Case (Black) by YONTEX https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B071CJ5HPZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_tNIjFr9cQXThd

    And:

Nintendo Switch Stand, Lamicall Foldable Tablet Stand : Desktop Stand Holder Dock for Nintendo Switch, iPad Air 2 3 4 Pro mini, kindle, Nexus, Accesso https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01MA4RAQF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_WfVDiUUB6lNvN

Yontex joycon grips very good. Turns your joy con into the shape of a PS4 pad. I'm 90% sure these are the same as the Orzly ones which retail at 5.99 for two, so look at those first.

I basically did a google beforehand and looked at all on the market and these were rated best. I'm really happy with the purchase. Same criticism, you have to press inner part of the top buttons but it worked absolutely fine on Mariokart and wasn't an issue with Garou. Don't feel like I'm damaging them when I click in. Definitely felt like a more comfortable way to play both games, especially Garou. Think the analogue sticks work fine and was pulling off dragon punch and fireball inputs with ease.

The Lamicall stand is awesome. Really heavy duty thick burnished metal, the Switch sits nicely on it. It folds down flat, has rubber feet so it won't damage glass and you could happily beat some to death with it. It raises the Switch about three inches off the deck which is a much better viewing angle - in the case stand I find you're looking down a lot more. I think this really comes into play with four player games as they don't have to sit on top of each other to view the screen.

Really happy with the Switch but these little things just round off the rough edges. Last night had it out drinking beers in the garden. My sister in law loved it. Now everyone gets the controllers straight away, the Switch is raised up for every one to see and I had my anker battery back attached to the bottom so we could have played all night.

Glorious. I guess for battery, c-cable, stand and and four grips you're looking at sixty quid but you can then go away camping or just in the garden and play really comfortable Mariokart for 12 hours.

Anyway, I heartily recommend all of it if you think that's how you might be playing.

Cheers everyone for the feedback. Sounds like the Orzly case will be fine then. I'm mainly going to be using the case to store all the Switch odds and ends in most of the time anyway, so the big size is a plus.

I'm already getting the Orzly tempered glass screen protectors, so thought I might as well get a case too to push the order over 20 for free Amazon delivery.

@macmurphy Thanks for that lengthy write up! Much appreciated. Once I've bagged a second set of Joy Cons I'll be looking into getting a stand and such. The Switch has been quite successful when having invited friends over and a decent stand will much improve things.

I posted this on the accessories thread but posting here too.

Recommended products by forum members. There's a few Orzly products there. I'm not on commission, honest!

    SCREEN PROTECTOR
I think it's fair to say that this is considered to be far the best screen protector.

    JOYCON GRIPS

I can very much recommend the following accessories:

ORZLY tempered glass screen protector (linked above)

    Anker 20100mah powerbank (linked above)

Gioteck premium carry case currently has all my physical games in, extra set of joycons, anker usb c cable and the Hori playstand I have linked below. Can also swap the playstand and fit in the anker powerbank linked above (20100maH).

    Hori playstand.
Does exactly what it says it does. Have used this on a plane, most useful for cgarging and playing at the same time. Nice and stable, folds to be about the same size as the console with joycons detached.

Gioteck joycon grips These are excellent. Joycons are fully encased and locked into position. Shoulder buttons are much more prominent as well. Makes table top Mariokart 8 great fun for everyone big or small hands.

@macmurphy Just to point out to people that the stand you bought isnt designed for the switch. The switch has two vents on the back and the stand you use will block about half of those vents.

Probably nothing to worry about, but people might want to consider that in their deciding what stand to purchase.

Fair point, caveat emptor and all that. I can confirm it basically blocks 1/2 of each back vent. So added to vent on top, you will have 2/3 vents open.

It's never felt slightly warm after numerous uses though - a few people online have said it doesn't run as hot in handheld mode and those vents are mostly for when it's docked.

Anyway, it's a great stand, rubber all over cradle so Switch sits snug and scratch free. You can also jam the flat foot of it in a lot of places - between car seat and headrest for example.

Really happy with mine and now I have it I use it for tablets and phones as well.

Anyone preordered the wired hori controller? I'm half tempted to just bite the bullet for the pro controller... But so expensive.
