A Testfire thing sounds awesome :) I suppose it'll also be Nintendo's first chance to show us how their first-party games will work online too, unless there's something else I've forgotten.

Much like the last time it look like it's a true stress test, focusing all the server load into those allotted times. It seemed to work last time as the Splatoon servers were fairly rock solid at launch, and it definitely seems like a good idea to see what load they should expect on Switch.

The times seem fairly good too, so there should be times for everyone to have a go.

    Friday 24th March 7pm
    Saturday 25th March - 3am (no thanks, that's sleep time), 11am, 7pm
    Sunday 26th March 4am (SLEEEEEEP), 12pm

The full games isn't due for a good while after that though. That's going to be a heck of a wait :p

I'll pass thanks. Nothing says mental like shorts and I giant pair of boots. Those inklings look like they're off to a Smiths gig.

Models look better than the 1st game or am I imagining it?

There's definitely a little more detail. The varying hair styles also add to that. Personally, I prefer the default hair for female inklings in the original game. If that's an option, i'll stick with that for this game.

Also, i'd love a Sombrero. That is my staple hat in Animal Crossing. Everyone looks cool wearing a Sombrero.

Just a quick reminder for those interested that the Splatoon 2 Testfire is available to download now, and will be playable at the following times:

Tomorrow, Friday 24th March at 7pm
Saturday 25th March at 3am (for people on night shift or in other places), 11am then 7pm
Sunday 26th March at 4am then last one at 12pm

Those are all UK time (GMT for 24th and 25th then BST for the 26th). It's 1 hour slots for all of them, where you'll be able to play 4v4 Turf War on 2 of the new maps, Musselforge Fitness and The Reef. You'll be able to chose from 4 weapons: Splattershot, Splat Roller, Splat Charger and of course the new Splat Dualies.

Annoyingly I'll only be there for the Saturday morning slot, unless I roll in drink at 4am on Sunday morning and decide to pick up the Switch....

Controls are very sensitive using the joycon in the grip. Just played my first game. It's basically Splatoon that looks a bit better.

I didn't play the original but why can't I look up and down with the R stick while gyro controls are on? I looked in the menu and it just said 'nope'.

@uiruki as motion goes it's the most natural I've known in a game

@uiruki right stick is intended to be for making fast turns only, the motion is for tuning your aim. Takes getting used to but works great

Definitely a lot of newcomers - not many people seem to be aware you can jump to teammates! Had some good rounds already though.

Looks really pretty in handheld mode. Plays a lot like splatoon 1, but that ain't no bad thing.
