I would imagine the people in here are pretty excited about the Switch, I know I am. Having a powerful handheld with the whole talent of Nintendo behind it, whats not to get excited about? I'll be mainly using the thing in handheld mode, as I can take it to my nature loving girlfriends who doesn't even own a telly, how about yourselves? People complain about a lack of launch games and thats very true but I think a lot of the devs who make 3ds RPGs etc will 'switch' and with it being region free as well they're going to be a glut of games in the near future. With Nicalis supporting it with their back catalogue (having Binding Of Issac on it is a dream come true) I hope this means more indies will jump on board and make it as popular with Indies as the Vita (We NEED Spelunky). Anyway, bollocks to all the naysayers, bring on the Switch! |

It's a very nice looking tablet. -

Registered 16 years agoI'm still ridiculously hyped. It just being a new handheld (or handheld capable) console already has me on board. The launch line up, as thin as it admittedly is, is very much the sort of stuff I fancy. None of the stuff they've said yet has really put me off (though is Nintendo so there's still time), and as I already have money set aside for it, I'm not really fussy about the prices as long as they don't exceeded that amount of money. Very excited indeed .gif)

Registered 16 years agoI'm really looking forward to this, battery life is fine for me as I won't be using it away from power for that long.
Can't wait until I can play Zelda on the train.
I have a phone, tv, tablet, desktop, laptop, ps3 & ps4 that can all access Netflix so I don't really care that this doesn't have it. -

But that's nothing to do with Nintendo. I just had a shit load of credit for Argos I needed to get rid of by a certain date. Didn't really need anything else, so blew it on a Switch.
Can never have enough tablets. -

Their multiplayer communication gadget is great too.

I'm really excited. Can't really fathom why - I guess it's because I use Off TV play so much on the Wii U (to the point where I get frustrated when I accidentally buy a game without it
), and now I can venture outside the living room and use it at work with switch and that really appeals to me. This really feels like a console designed for me. Peripheral pricing and the expectation that they want me to re-buy MK8 at full price for content they could easily add as DLC to the Wii U version extracts the urine, however. -
Dude I'm fucking PUMPED to discover which ROM they try to sell us next -

Registered 14 years agoIt's going to be the nonsole of champions. Take it down the park and lure in waifs and strays with two player Mariokart then ask them if they want to put something else in their hand that twitches.
It's up there with having an ice cream van or a puppy. -

One good point is the miniscule in-built storage of 32 GB is unlikely to ever get used up.

Registered 9 years agoI can see this is fast becoming a hilarious* trolling thread... But....
I'm really looking forward the Switch, but it hit me last night that I'm kind of sad about my 3DS and Vita. I love those guys, and I have so many games still to play! The idea that a vastly superior machine is about to settle down in my possession is making me feel somewhat emotional.
Plus I'm addicted to FM Touch 15 on my Nexus 9. Too many handhelds, too little time. Oh the humanity.

Registered 5 years agoI'm still on board! I'm very much hyped as the machine itself looks and sounds awesome. I'm a little annoyed about the initial software and accessory pricing (though i've managed to bag Zelda and 1 2 Switch at more reasonable prices today), but if they do launch every game they intend to launch in 2017, it is a better software line up than Sony are offering this year (all in my humble opinion, of course).
I'm also hoping indies get on board with this one, too. Nintendo have put in a lot of effort with indies in recent years, in terms of promotion, communication and engineering support, and many of them seem to be jumping on the Switch bandwagon. Hopefully this is a growing trend!
Spelunky and Rocket League would be all it takes for me to sell up and leave my PS4 behind. They are my two most played games on the system and were the only two games to really pull me away from the Wii U (i'm playing other games, some of them fantastic, but i'm not nearly as precious about them). -

I remember the 3ds being a similar price when it was first released.
I'm not negative about the Switch, which is the most powerful dedicated handheld in existence and will (eventually) have some brilliant games. I am negative about the pricing and the terrible Nintendo marketing which places this as a home console (according to Reggie).
[The price was not initially revealed at the launch event – Nintendo Europe president Satoru Shibata said that was up to individual retailers. Dawn Paine, marketing director of Nintendo UK, confirmed to Metro that their retail partners would be pricing the 3DS between £219.99 and £229.99.
I bought one at that price, so £60 more isnt too bad.
