Trailer leaked this morning. Looks pretty stunning. Looks like they've created the environments and atmosphere from the ground up like Driveclub did.

Yeah looks very nice. Is it supposed to be out this year?

Looks more like the ToCA Race Driver games with more variety now, ice racing and rallycross. I don't particularly care for rallycross but the weather stuff looks cool. Shame it looks like there's still not going to be any oval racing, although looking at that dust bowl track for PC1 I can see why, the AI just doesn't know what to do and the physics just bug out. Seemed a bit pointless having NASCAR-like stock cars and asymmetric setups with no ovals.

Hopefully the track recreation is better this time around, for the most part they looked fine but compared to the road feel you get from the laser scanned ones in Assetto Corsa or even a couple of official rFactor 2 mods they all felt very flat.

Still, if the AI is still going to be shit beyond belief then it's all for nothing.

Think I'll pass this time around. Too many niggling issues with the last game to go back.

The more interesting prospect in this genre is Raceroom potentially moving to the Unreal engine. Should hopefully give pCars2 a run for its money in the pretty stakes.

I never liked the controls. Tried with a steering wheel, didn't feel right. Tried a year later with a pad, still didn't feel right.

Yeah, but you're all hopeless fanboys. I'd like to hear what someone more reliable, like SennaCujo, for example, has to say first.

Graphics are pretty damn good. Whether they've burnt up all their good will or not remains to be seen. I sort of got used to the pad handling for the karting but not for anything with more power than a shopping trolley. That would need to be fixed.

In a world so adorned with racing options this will have to do a lot. I'm still playing Horizon 3 and have both Dirt Rally and Forza 6 so it would have to be pretty special to turn my head. I feel Dirt 4 may be my only serious racer purchase this year.

I still laugh at the fact that half the proposed new features for 2 were meant to appear in 1.

I also enjoy the fact that I'm lifetime banned from their forums for enquiring whether having your driver in Audi overalls whilst driving a BMW was a contract infringement

I enjoyed the first one, but the single player felt completely soulless and now the MP id quite dead on the PS4.

I'll have a look at the new one though.

Will this have 3 billion settings to tweak for Force Feedback?

I'll stick with Assetto Corsa on PC, presuming that continues as is after sale of Kunos.

I enjoyed the first, but they have to sing for their supper to get me to buy this.

Some members of the dev team acted like dicks towards any reasoned critique, which I won't forget in a hurry.

Hope the second game is good, was put off by the 1st game due to the Developer's complete arrogance, the fanboy shills and how broken it was.

The 1st game is coming to GwG tomorrow, so will see what the game is like

@Reacher for all PCars faults the online has been the saving France. I can still find full servers easy on the PS4, especially GT3. Have you left a filter on by accident?

Grace to France, that's an interesting autocorrect

Aye, cunty devs make this an unlikely buy, or, perhaps, as two fingers to them, a buy once I can get it second hand.

Awful controller support and Devs who didn't give a shit about it either, I doubt any of them ever tried a gamepad for project cars.

    Amateurs

I sometimes think I had a different game to other people. Me and a few kids from work had a blast playing this every night for months without any problems. All using controllers as well. Other than the fact the guy who made it is a cunt I've never understood why people get so angry about it.

I thought the pad controls were a twitchy mess tbh. Shame really as I loved the career setup, track selection and cars.

The controls on xbox were a lot worse than PS4 apparently, something to do with deadzones or something.

Ah, maybe. Open wheelers were practically undriveable.

I got the controller settings right for Xbox in the end. Took a crazy amount of tweaking. And when I say right I mean useable. Not DiRT Rally or Forza right.

I enjoyed the invisible glass walls that that Ian Bell, probably personally, placed on the rumble strips of tracks in order to suddenly send your car skyward on the last lap of a long race. Hope that idea is developed in the sequel..

Didn't get on with the first game at all, and I enjoy most racing games. I liked the career structure and the range of real circuits but that was it really. Will pass on this and stick with Dirt and Forza.

I liked Project Cars up to a point, felt the Career mode was a bit over bloated. Had no real issues with the handling either. Only thing i couldn't get on with was the Karts. I went back to the game in the summer and it's a solid game.
