@drhickman1983 you could just follow the main quest markers, just pick one and go for it!

(I do get what you're saying though)

    @StixxUK

I don't think I have any main quest markers, Ines I'm missing something. I have the overall quest to destroy Gannon, the quest to free the divine beasts and the quest to unlock memories. Unless I've missed something (which is quite possible) I can't see any markers when selecting any of those.

I only came across the vah ruta quest when some I stumbled across some watery fish lady who told me to go and speak to more fish people. And for a brief while I had a definite destination and specific quest, and I was having a better time because of it.

Then that ended so I'm just wandering about hoping somebody else will tell me what to do :p

It's a very pretty game but I'm not entirely sure what I'm getting out of it right now. I'm not taking anything away from those who love it, I'm just not sure it's for me, really.

If you have the main quest markers on your map thatís all you get.

No lines, pointers or hand holding just try to get to those dots.

That's it though, I don't even have a dot on the map, unless I'm being blind.

Every quest (sidequests too) should give you something to go by as long as you make them active.
    Weird if you don't.

I can activate the couple of side quests i have and I do get markers for those, but they don't seem that interesting.

Probably time for me to move onto Mario.

I don't really know what's going on in your game tbh. It's actually an "open" world so there's less direction but there should be plenty of direction to funnel you from beast to beast, and in doing so you'll go through plenty of locations to pick up more and more sidequests that take you to more places, and repeat. Along the way there should be plenty to focus on.

Got this with my Switch at 8am on launch day last year. Only Killed Ganon yesterday. I think that's value for money.

Per my earlier comments, DLC2 is not exactly stellar, but its definitely worth a look. The additional shrines are pretty well thought out and I've seen puzzles there that I don't recall seeing before

@drhickman1983 the divine beast one should give you markers, initially to Kakariko and the other village, then to the beasts themselves...

Upon investigation it does seem I was being a blind twat :p Still not entirely sure if I really feel like continuing all that much.

I think that's how this game would be with me. I loved Zelda as a kid, and I went high and low to get Twilight Princess on GC when it came out. But as the games get bigger and bigger I just don't feel interested. Twilight Princess was the last new one I played and I didn't finish it.
I have kept an eye on BotW just because I loved Zelda before and it's interesting it got such praise :)

I did complete LttP again on the SNES mini :D

before botw I would have rated them.... 1. OoT 2. WW 3. lttp 4. minish cap 5. phantom hourglass

never played majora's, the first two, or skyward sword. abandoned twilight princess about 10 hours in. botw is definitely number 1 now though, no question. lost woods is shite but

Not sure it's my number one Zelda game, but it's in my top 3 with A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening.

This is my 3 too. Not sure which order. Feels a little unfair to compare a current day open worlder to a GB game lol

Obviously I wouldn't compare them on a technical level, but I still think Link's Awakening had a bigger impact on me. I didn't realise how much I loved that game until I replayed it a couple of years ago.

My favourites are Twilight Princess, Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time but if I had to choose a portable one that would be Link's Awakening (DX) as well.

I was a Sega boy until the N64, so my first Zelda was OoT. Still the greatest game of all time for me.

Finished DLC2 and the reward for doing so is proving great for quickly exploring the bits of the map that i've never touched even after 130 hours. Already turned up a couple of rogue shrines

Still think Skyward Sword pips it for me, even though I fully expect disappointment if I tried playing it now. This one blew my mind and Iíve put more hours into it, but I prefer more linear games given the choice. Now Iím just checking things off the list before finishing it

I've been chipping away at shrines over the last week and have finally reached 94. Time to turn the Shrine Radar on I think.

There is something about the age I played it at and the switch to a 3D world that keeps OoT as my favourite Zelda. Now I tend to see behind the curtains of whats going on in a game too much to ever have that original OoT experience again, but if I were a youngster playing Botw now I'm sure I'd find it truly magical.

In the desert beast now and Iíve realised I canít be fucked with these kind of trial and error, shift the angle of the building kind of puzzles any more. Thankfully thereís only four of these things
