    Lol. I regularly drop my kindle on my face when i fall asleep. hurts less though

    Thats true. I imagine they'd do something clever like have the sides of the screen not recognise your thumb if you're holding it

    I'm so glad I didn't get a SNES Mini back when it launched. It's decreased 30% in price since then and I could waltz off and buy one within 10 minutes right now if I wished

    I got mine for 69.99, and I don't regret it.

    'No buy' April is over and I did fairly well although there's room for improvement. I bought a new keyboard for my pc and a couple of magazines that I usually always buy anyway. I also bought new shoes for work but they are in the essential category. No money was spent on games, board games, films, gadgets or other frivolous or unnecessary things. I get tempted when browsing so I uninstalled the Amazon app from my phone.

    In some ways I feel that there are very few things that I actually really need. I'm quite happy going along with what I've got and new stuff tends to be a distraction from my current interests, goals and projects. I like the idea of buying better quality, more expensive stuff that I really, really want rather than frequently frittering away 10-20 on random junk.

    That plus ANOTHER Chinese tablet and Labo means i am wallowing in a lack of willpower having started the year so well.

    I'm really tempted to get the oculus go headset. I know full well I'll mess with it for a week and then that will be it.

    I want a new Kindle. I have a first-gen Paperwhite that's perfectly serviceable, but the screen is scuffed up and it keeps turning itself on so the battery is always draining.

    This should not be justification for a new one, but I want one.

    The bloody Scottish Government are giving out interest free loans for electric bikes. Bastards, I'd managed to resist up to now.

    If you can get one through a company cycle2work scheme, you should do that. Much better than just an interest free loan.

    Right, I'm doing a 'no buy, July', which rhymes as well!

    I've got plenty of games, plenty to do, and plenty of things to be saving up for!

    Who's with me!!!

    @Carlo

    I've done it once so I'll do it again. I do have some essentials to buy but I'm in for no treats e.g. games, films, books, music, magazines and what have you.

    I take it it's from payday to payday, so no sneaking shit in during what remains of June once you've been paid either right?!

    Someone at work is selling a starwars battlefront ps4 pro with vr headset and camera plus 3 or 4 games and extra controller for only 400.

    Very good deal but my gaming mojo is failing fast due to the weather and world cup.

    I looked into this a while ago, and there seem to be 4 categories of games:

    1. Games the Win 2 can't handle because the hardware is too weak;
    2. Games the Win 2 can't handle because they don't really work with a gamepad;
    3. Games where the UI becomes unusable/-readable on the small screen;
    4. The odd game that actually works and is fun to play.

    Maybe I was watching the wrong videos, but mostly it seemed to be a pain in the arse.

    @UncleLou I have been eyeing this up since announcement (and its predecessor for a while before that). I already have a Linx Vision tablet (slightly weaker hardware than the GPD Win 1, and basically just an 8" tablet plus gamepad cradle but no easy way to connect a keyboard or mouse with the cradle attached and some games that work with gamepad won't even load with no keyboard present). The GPD 1 was tempting for the built in keyboard (and mouse toggle switch) but the smaller screen was a concern. The GPD Win 2 looks even nicer but again the screensize is a concern and the price. It won't run the latest AAA games but it doesn't pretend to, I have been pleasabtly surprised at the stuff that has worked well on my Linx like Fallout New Vegas, Last Remnant and Rage. I doubt I will be getting one any time soon but if I had one I could see getting a lot of use out of it.
