Mario looked bonkers and great to see them jump in the cross platform stuff with Rocket League also.

Not a bad showing by Nintendo, better than expected although a lot of it looks a good way off.

It's not a bad showing (in my opinion) because they delivered what people expect them to deliver.

And then collect a bunch of triangles so he could buy a sombrero so he could get into this one house so he could collect a moon.
    Makes total sense.

Did you manage to catch it spoiler free?

    @JoelStinty

In the end I managed to do a careful youtube search and mirrored it from my tablet to the tv. I've never played Rocket League before so I'm interested to try it out, and a new Kirby game is always good news for me.

Nintendo, definitely the highlight of E3..
For what? Things we already knew about, a load of middling releases and 2 big announcements with no info, footage or release dates.

I really think that it just highlights the general apathy towards games atm.

@Derblington Mario gameplay alone really for me, nothing else shown looks anywhere near as fun and makes me want to play.. even just announcing metroid 4 made me smile more than any other far off announcement. Add in Kirby and yoshi and there was plenty to be happy about..

Sony for me, had many games I want to play. Even if they were a little narrow in style. I'll let the 3rd parties bring the variety, but the quality of sonys was consistent.

Nintendo was alright for me. The games I saw that I liked I was already going to buy as I had heard about them previously, and no interest in the platformer games Mario or no mario.

Personally I thought it was even between Microsoft and Ubisoft. I liked MS's torrent of games being thrown at me but Ubisoft probably sold their smaller line better. I'm not really sure why Bethesda even bothered this year.

Ubisoft and Nintendo had the most upbeat conferences, Sony had a fair chunk of games i want to play. So between those three a lot to play. To be honest i got so much stuff to catch up on that i could do with a year without announcements haha. Only big new games i brought this year are Resi 7, Zelda and Mario Kart. A load of indies to play as well.

    I missed the stream.

Nintendo. Mario Odyssey looks great, so does Xenoblade and Mario + Rabbids. Add the announcement of a new pokemon rpg, Metroid Samus, Yoshi, Kirby, Rocket League, Fire Emblem Warriors...

Ubisoft was a very close second though.

The minion mode in the Mario & Luigi Superstar remake for 3ds looks quite good.

Any idea if Xenoblade 2 is going to have Japanese voiceovers? I wasn't overly impressed with the English VOs in the trailer.

@Cadence Those English VOs already appear to have become legendary for all the wrong reasons.

I'd be very, very surprised if Xenoblade 2 had an option for Japanese VOs in the English version. There was no such option for Xenoblade X and with the well-known storage/cost ratios on switch cartridges, I can't imagine they'll be tempted to go that way now. It's possible we might get them as a downloadable addon, a la Persona 5, but I really wouldn't hold your breath.

Good English-language voice acting tends to be expensive (much more so than the Japanese equivalent). Unfortunately, bad voice acting in any language tends to grate very quickly.

That's true. I haven't played Xenoblade X yet so haven't yet experienced how bad (or comically bad) they are :)

@Cadence Xenoblade X has some voice acting which is just "ordinary" bad. Then you have the alien voices, which are staggering levels of awful; think a 13 year old doing impressions of Jar Jar Binks. Doesn't help that while Xenoblade X has many fine qualities and a decent overarching plot, most of its dialogue is a bit shite.

Shame as the first Xenoblade was great, "It's Reyn time!" etc.

Seen a few entirely predictable comments from journos about the new show set up. Business folk, PR and fans just can't all get what they want from the show at the same time in the same place
