    I'm sure it would be overkill, and no idea about power supply etc, but it's only another £15 ish for a 4gb 480...

    This all feels like overkill for such an old machine. Have you looked on ebay? Could probably pick up something that's a better balance for the machine for a lot less.

    The 1050ti mini needs no extra power if its a problem.

    A motherboard bundle later on to upgrade the rest or even use it as a media pc and get another.

    480 for basically the same price as the 1050

    If you can power it, this is an easy choice

    @b0rk

    Meh, hadn't seen that story before but my 980Ti is fantastic, not had any issues with it.

    Can't imagine a card in the £135 bracket for a PC like this anyone is going to notice anything wrong with it. £135 for the 4GB 1050ti is a great deal!

    Yeah they are. Palit are shady as fuck.

    here you go

    http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/palit-geforce-gtx-460-sonic-could-have-issues.html

    "So apparantly it is common for Palit to submit better samples to the press opposed to what they sell in the stores: Here's an answer from Palit which makes clear as to this apparantly was done on purpose"

    looks like Guru3D pussied out and deleted the rest after pressure from Palit though. I remember reading all about that whole fucking episode. Fuck Palit.
    A news story from 2010 is not really relevant to a company in 2017.

    I mean you could link a story about Windows Vista being completely shite, doesn't really mean Windows 10 suffers from the same issues.

    Recent reviews from both media and owners disagree with your opinion, which seems to be based on something that is 7 years old.
