Registered 13 years agoGiant Bomb is really my only regular source for gaming content on YouTube. I'll occasionally watch Dyslexci and Ralfidude who primarily show ARMA and DCS content. -

Registered 12 years agoI tend to just browse a bit on Youtube, but I have a few favourites. Outside Xbox, as mentioned above, but I've not watched a great deal of their stuff recently. Must get back to that. I also watch a lot of Unit Lost for Overwatch stuff.
I like Adam Koralik for Dreamcast/Sega/Shenmue stuff, even if his videos are potato-cam quality, and I'll watch a bit of Metal Jesus every now and then, just because he's a pretty cheerful guy - I can't stand watching endlessly cynical grumps. I also follow a couple of people that do re-recordings/arrangements etc of VG music, like ferdk, Smooth McGroove and Mariachi Entertainment System.
I've added a couple of channels to my subs recently. Firstly, Dark Pixel Gaming, mainly for JP stuff. They have some good retrospectives of FF and other jRPGs, and their Lost in Translation series turns up some pretty interesting stuff, like this. And secondly, there's Clemps, who I found while looking for Drakengard/NieR stuff. -

Registered 20 years agoI've recently started checking Danny O'Dwyer's channel fairly regularly. He's older than the average youtuber, although he does natter all over his gameplay videos in a lovely irish brogue.
And of course I watch all of the videos on the Digi2k channel, although that's at something of a tangent to gaming per se most of the time. -

Registered 13 years agoDoes anyone have any recommendations for a channel that has a lot of retro/older games? Even from ps2 and before then. I'm more of a retro gamer these days and have an interest in them. -

Registered 11 years agoI can absolutely recommend DoorMonster, Errant signal and Extra Credits out of that list.
Errant signal reviews games on an intellectual level:

Lazy Game Reviews has a fondness of tech, nostalgia, memorabilia, companies, games and the sims series of that era. Although, mostly for PC.
Hope that helps.

I quite often search for pre-model1 gameplay on youtube by searching for specific games I'm interested in. I'll happily click on a LetsPlay or other playthrough, although beware those videos mostly use emulator hacks to rewind the game and avoid dying, I reckon. Either that or every damn youtuber is superhuman, which I personally doubt.

For shorter (and more honest) reviews, classic game room is good.

Registered 5 years agoJeremy Parish. Being a Nintendo nerd, it's interesting watching his retrospective of a all things NES, SNES and GameBoy. He's a down to earth guy who avoids over the top enthusiasm to help sell his videos. -

Mark Brown (Game Makers Toolkit)
SuperBunnyHop
Metal Jesus Rocks
Crosscounter TV
Classic Game Room
Pat the NES Punk
Ashens (bit of a mish mash but his retro stuff is fantastic)
Slopes GameRoom
Danny O'Dwyer/NoClip
One I forget the name of but he does Speed Running Record retrospectives for things like Punch Out, Metroid etc
I think that's everything, it's certainly the ones I watch the most anyway

Classic Game Room and ACG do the best reviews around IMO. Plus the two of them crack me up. -

Your Overwatch, Unit Lost, plus a few other Overwatch channels occasionally.
Really like Danny O'Dwyer's work but I'm behind on his documentaries since he left GS.
Total Biscuit - although he waffles a lot he argues his points well and I tend to agree with him.
Angry Joe and Jim Sterling are ok at times.

I nearly didn't list Angry Joe. Not my favourite but I do watch some of his stuff. He's a bit try hard, but he can be mildly entertaining when I'm in the right mood. Mostly when he slates a game I also found disappointing.
