Is Pinball FX probably the same game I had on Vita with marvel themed boards?

If so that might be quite tempting.

    Yes.

Yeah be good to have a thread. Friend codes and tables owned. Anyone playing on other platforms can just post their score.

Just had the greatest bus gaming session ever. Doom - crossing the bridge, into the tower, big fight against the flying things, bigger fight against the fat guys and then scaling the tower. And I managed it all without missing my stop.

I am upgrading from 'cautious recommendation' to 'fuck the reservations, just buy it'. I may even try the multiplayer.

@neems I did that bit earlier in a coffee shop whilst the other half was shopping.

    I love my switch.

What controller settings are you folks using for Doom ? I'm flailing around trying to make small adjustments using the pro controller and the joycons .

I haven't played an fps with sticks for ages so might just be that but was wondering if aim assist or smoothing is making things feel off a bit. If the demons just stand in front of me they'll be ok while I shoot the scenery around them .

I've turned look sensitivity way down on both axis to 15 and look smoothing off entirely, and having a much better time of it now. Takes some getting used to, and I'm playing on Hurt Me Plenty rather than Ultraviolence which is my biggest concession vs when I played this on PS4.

Having an absolute blast though, it's my favourite game from 2016 on a handheld and it shouldn't be possible but it is. Of course the other versions are noticeably better, of course they are, but this still looks and plays fantastically well and is every bit the same excellent game. Just a colossal achievement technically, hats off to all involved.

Aye it's one of the few games that I played start to finish on pc without getting distracted by something else , was surprised to see it available for the Switch .
I'll try lowering the settings and just stick with it for a bit although my Mr. Magoo play style is making me use the glory kill option a lot more so it feels different .

I have very low aiming sensitivity (10 horizontal and 1 vertical) and smoothing at 100%. Most other people seem to go the other way, but i basically try to get the reticle somewhere close and then strafe to fine tune the aim. I find using the plasma rifle(?) helps as i can actually see where the projectiles land.

I've been playing on the lowest difficulty because i suck so much, but i feel like i'm starting to get to grips with it, so i'm going to go back to normal and see how i get on.

On a telly it's decent, but very much the worst version of Doom available. But I think it may just be the most impressive hand held title ever made, my stint on the bus earlier left me thinking 'holy shit it's Doom on a bus'.

    Ittle Dew 2 - 29.99 EUR

Fuck off. It’s 19.99 on Steam.
  • Deleted user 14 November 2017 17:36:35
It's £20 from SA. Don't know anything about it though.

For the joycons I think I have smoothing at 20 and horizontal 18/vertical 11. That's been serving me well in MP at lunch.

Pro controller settings I have slightly higher.

The biggest aiming issue is there's a massive deadzone for some reason, hopefully panic button remove that as it makes the small travel distance on the joycon analogue even smaller.

Love doom but I've already paid for it twice on ps4 and only completed it again the other day. Looks amazing though.

I've barely scratched the surface on zelda. Too busy enjoying mario kart and over cooked.

Yeah, it's not a great game either.

Skyrim price too, fucking hell - Seems £50 is the price for painfully average games :S

These ports of old games really shouldn't be full price. 29.99 max.

Note that it's only an estimated price for batman. It might be £30 as it's $39.99 usa.

To be fair, Skyrim and the other older ports aren't going to sell as much as first time round, and probably still take a lot of work to port over. I'd guess it's mostly what they need to charge to make it worthwhile.

Batman is available on physical for £30.99 at base.com

Sorely recommend physical as you can sell it on afterwards - it’s probably not got much replay ability.

I know, but this is the eShop thread. No bitter tasting physical tat here.

Rime has atrocious optimisation apparently. Frame rates in the single digits at times.
Take a punt on whether they’ll improve it before you finish it basically, but given it doesn’t run well on PC either I’d be cautious about it, sadly.
