Ps4 controllers are fine and dandy until they enivitably break because the build quality is piss poor. I quite like them for fps  games.

I have to begrudgingly accept that ps4 is kicking xbox's arse(obviously) and will continue to do so but don't go telling me the PS4 pad is better than the xbox pad, not having that at all!

The offset sticks are perfect for a start. Why has Sony never gone down that road ?

As for the game, I bought Destiny 3 times on xbox, various editions and once on ps4, never played beyond the demo...so obviously I will be buying ;)

Having used both types of pad for years, I can only conclude the layout of the sticks makes fuck all difference to me. But them I'm a southpaw, and we have to put up with worse problems than that.

Glancing through the thread, and it looks like there's only me, ToonMonkey and Waggy79 looking to jump on this on PC. Anyone else lurking in here and thinking of doing the same?

Like Waggy, I just noticed the £33 price on CDKeys and find myself mighty tempted to break the cardinal rule and actually place a pre-order.

We're halfway to the six people needed for a raid, presuming they stick to that body count, if that's the case. ;)

I will probably go PC if my friends do. After all this game is nothing without friends.

And don't break the no pre order rule, their is a reason it is a rule :)

Even with the EG lot, while I was still in the clan, it wasn't easy to find a game. Ended up on the100.io more often than not, so this isn't true to me. Very few people I know in real life play this.

Yeeeeaaaaah, but this is pretty much nailed-on to be a game I'll sink time into. Closer to release even CDKeys up their prices and I'd wager this'll be closer to £40 come launch. That's nearly console prices. I didn't get a PC to pay more than thruppence ha'penny for my games! ;)

But yes. You're right. I shouldn't become part of the problem.

Cross play would be great to beef up numbers, i primarily play with a pad anyway though the crucible would probably be tough going against kb/m players. Need a decent headset too.

    Most interesting.

I've been playing this hard over the last week. Despite buying all the expansions and finishing the story elements, I never really 'got it'... Until now. I'm not sure if it's just all the patches have made it that much of a better game or if it's taken me years to cut through the opaque and convoluted systems. The only bother I have with it is that they've reduced the PvP playlist and that means you may not always have something you like in the crucible each week.

Anyway, it's made me fired up for Destiny 2, let's hope they get off to a great start.

They added so much stuff to do, and also revamped many systems to make them less annoying. Perhaps most importantly, you get some decent loot relatively often. I still remember the old launch days when you were lucky to get one legendary engram in a week, strange coins were a proper rarity, and people pretty much just played Heroics and patrols all day round in hope of grinding Ascendant materials.

I only have TTK, and I'm still swarmed with quests and other stuff to do. This is what it should have been at launch. And I'll probably grab Rise of Iron at some point too.

Anyway, I'm not seeing a lot of hype for Destiny 2. While the first game was really successful and still played a lot, I wonder if people felt too short-changed by all the paid expansions. It may have been good enough for first-time TTK or Collection buyers, but those who were there at launch might not be so forgiving. On my part, I know I'm going to wait until I hear more.

I'm sure it will... well, almost sure.

Don'r forget this past holiday has seen several high-profile games disappoint in terms of sales. Granted, if it comes out in September again, it should at least avoid the big holiday rush. But I have this feeling like I'm not seeing a lot of excitement around.

Perhaps it will all ride on the beta again. It did a lot of good for the first game. I wasn't even going to buy Destiny until I got hooked on the beta.

Wait until it's properly shown. It can only be better than the first one.
Even if it only looks better it will be enough to make people start to pay attention.

Watching the reveal stream, they seem to be doing a lot of things right with this.

This really looks like more of an expansion than a true sequel. It does look pretty dated as well.

I'm sure there's more than enough content for it to be a full on sequel.

I'm also fairly sure they're not looking to rock a very successful boat too much, which is perfectly reasonable.

I.e. probs not for me after the first 30 or so hours. But that's still 30 or so hours, and we shall see.

Don't get me wrong I'll spend a huge amount of time on this but the content looks like it was just stuff cut from the first game.

Character models haven't moved on really, worlds look nice though but it just seems like more of the same. I'm a massive fan but it seems like there is little new here. Still sounds light in content. After saying matchmaking went against the vision, they've gone full reverse yet renamed it "guided games" or whatever.

I'll be buying, but if they still keep it to only one constant raid at a time worth doing then I won't be buying the expansions.

Raiding is my favourite part of the game, an it was pretty shit in Destiny 1 mainly because every raid became obsolete on an expansion.

Oh I'll buy it, but I'm not sure they have answered their critics. More like given them the two fingers.

They replaced all the Supers, weapons and gear, reworked Patrol, introduced matchmaking for all activities, replaced all maps with new ones double the size and added more kinds of side activities and lots of nooks and crannies to explore.

I'd say that's a bit more than just an expansion.

Would be somewhat surprised if they really haven't kicked up the content generation a notch as compared to say, WoW.

Just missed the stream but did catch the gameplay.

I am disappointed that it does look exactly how the first game looked like it was copied and pasted and redo the designs to freshen up.

However seeing as I am big on Destiny, I will be getting this regardless.

I hope the raids are more fun in this one.
