Silly Forsaken question: do I have to take bounties from the Spider, in order to get info on Barons' whereabouts and progress the story? I met with him late last night and started one bounty, but I was too sleepy for all the requirements to register

@JonFE nope, the story missions where you hunt the Barons will show up as Adventures on the map when you've progressed to that stage. You just walk up and start them. Spider's bounties are not compulsory and you can pick them up and do them at any time.

If I'm not wrong, at one point you do need to complete a few bounties for the Spider before he'll trust you enough to tell you about the next story mission.

Oh yeah, totally forgot that! Yeah you need to take any 5 bounties from him, and once you finish them he'll give you the adventures.

Just managed to clear the Blood Cleaver bounty thanks to a random's help (no way I could make it by myself at LL512). Good fun. There are many more ways to get powerful gear now, with several weekly bounties, prime engrams, and at least one daily bounty.

I do think powerful gear is less powerful than it used to be though. In general, it seems like it's about 4-5 levels higher than my max average, sometimes not even that much. So it will still take a very long time to even become strong enough for some of the Dreaming City quests.

You dismantle legendary and exotic gear.

Yeah, you won't have much if any yet, but soon you'll be swimming in it.

Finished the forsaken storyline, over 4 nights, has to be the best most cohesive to date.

Really enjoyed everything. Seems like there is still plenty to do too. Quite addicted to wanted bounties, really love exploring all the zones and finding all the nooks and crannies.

Is there a way to rewatch the cgi movies? Really want to watch some of them again! :)

If you are only at level 10 I would not worry about buying gear from any of the vendors, as you are naturally going to get better gear as you level up anyway.

But yeah, as you get legendaries you don't want, each one you dismantle gives you shards. Blue gear you dismantle will give you materials which you exchange with the gunsmith in the tower for better guns.

    @breakablepants

I accidentally bought a sword because I clicked on it to see what it was.

Oh well. Equipped it anyway gives me a cool 3rd person view when I use it.

    New patch out.

    https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/47213

Reduced amount of health, melee energy, and grenade energy returned when using the Sentinel Commander subclass path
God is dead. Bungie killed him.

At least they fixed the ADS issue.

Mine downloaded fine this morning. And thatís on patchy hotel WiFi that is too rubbish to actually reliably play the game.

Yeah, saw this. I didn't see anyone complaining the subclass was broken, are the nerfs that bad? Are Bungie being the fun police again? Only unlocked it a couple of days ago, didn't even get a chance to try it...

It's not the download, that took a few seconds, the installation took over an hour!

I did notice slightly higher times in recharging, though it's still good enough.

But I saw it coming. You get to kill everything in one shot, recharge your abilities as well so you can do it again almost immediately, and even get healed for it? No surprise it was nerfed. They probably wanted to make sure that you would only be properly rewarded if you hit at least two or three enemies at once.

I've been hearing conflicting things about just how hard a nerf it is, as much as 70% hit to recharge rate being thrown around. Suppose the only thing to do is give it a try and see.

No great loss for me either way, I've had a streak of good RNG and gotten some god rolls these past few days. The Duke 44 hand cannon with Outlaw and Rampage is nasty. And the Ace of Spades might be my favourite gun in the game now. I didn't like it in D1 but it's so improved here it's faintly ridiculous. 6 extra damage bullets if you reload after a kill, Firefly on all precision kills and you even get radar when ADS. It's almost broken and I love it.

Console? Mine took barely any time at all on my potato device pc.

Played for five minutes then had to go and enjoy my holiday apparently.

@Malek86 false alarm on the Code of the Commander nerf. Turns out they were tweaking it because it was massively OP in certain parts of the raid, but they turned the fix into a 2 step process, this nerf and next week, re-buffing it. We'll get to experience the glorious explosions again after all. :)

I've started getting some 520+ gear. Even got strong enough to clear the final lost sector in the Dreaming City.

Still not sure what's up with powerful gear. It's often items at a higher level than my max potential, but sometimes they are merely at that same level. It's all kinda random.

I did notice that Exodus Crash is back on the playlist. But apparently a bit easier? Kinda hard to tell, the boss still disappears all the time, but I'd say it now doesn't become immune at specific health percentages anymore, so he seems faster to kill.

Just hit LL 520 and forgot to hit up that Lost Sector, didn't think it would be enough but Petra had a bounty for it so will need to give it a try sooner or later.

I've played Exodus Crash and have no real problem with it, although that's probably after they nerfed the boss encounter. Seemed much easier, with IKELOS shotgun it's possible to burn down the boss very quickly. He'll still teleport away occasionally but it wasn't as grueling as before.

Also, the new Forsaken strikes are uniformly brilliant. Warden of Nothing is an all-timer.

Not a big fan of the Fanatic strike. Reminded me too much of the Dark Below era, when Bungie's idea of a strike was to send a million enemies at once.

Still haven't unlocked the last strike, how do you do it?

There's one that's still locked and looks like it could be linked to the raid. There's one more that's a PS4 exclusive that sees you hunting a Hive witch. Not my favourite but still decent.

I like the Fanatic one because it guarantees you a legendary for beating the boss. :)

I must confess that I really don't like the bounties system. Weeklies are still fine, but dailies are almost always going to sidetrack me toward some activity I don't especially feel like playing, just because I don't want to see them expire.

I'd rather be able to keep them for however long I want. If they don't want players to just accumulate them, just limit the max number, like in D1.
