    Help me out here.

Joined a random fire team via the companion app - was looking for Zero Hour - but ended up trying to take down the Riven.

Every time we lost, the average damage to the Riven was around the 2.5 million mark a player. I was lucky to hit 350k!? What. The. Fuck.

I'm maxed at 700, and yet these guys are doing 8x the damage.

This is what I can't get/understand about this fucking game. What is their set up that allows soooo much more damage?

    Frustrating as fuck.

Same with the Crucible, haven't played that for months.

    Seriously, any guidance always appreciated.

    Cheers.

I've not got to him but I'm going to assume that maybe there's a buff/debuff mechanic that you aren't using.

Thank you. Probably. But that means what? Paring this with that and the other?

@eleven63 what loadout are you using?
The most common strat for Riven (assuming cheese) is to use RL with cluster bombs, or more recently, Prospector. Hopefully you have a Well-lock wearing lunafaction boots for that dmg buff & no reload spam. That should see you easily hit the 2.5 mil mark.

Got Outbreak Perfected today as well. On the 4th try the timer reached zero with the boss dead but two shanks still alive. We managed to do it the 5th time with 40 seconds left.

There need to be some big changes to Titans, because the metagame so far heavily favours Hunters and Warlocks.

At this point, any Titans in a team are only good for applying Melting Point.

I've got a number of ongoing pursuits (Thorn, Whisper, Outbreak, any raid or nightfall strike  etc.) that require a fire team. I'm on Xbox and have joined TCM clan here, but to be honest I haven't been a regular player with them and I'm not sure if they are still active.

In any case, I've seen the companion app mentioned. In your experience, is there any success joining randoms for this?

@JonFE Yes. Just, err, be patient. I've had 'players' offer $20.00 to help me complete 'whatever'? To genuine, first rate gamers who know their shit. Have an open mic.
    Peace.

The last update says they are going to nerf a few weapons for the next season. Mostly, Whisper and Ace of Spades, plus they are reworking Lord of Wolves to be slightly less powerful (but also easier to control).

They are also nerfing many of the super generator armor pieces.

Hm, I'm mainly interested in how much they nerf Skull of Dire Ahamkara. If I get 75% or so Super back instead of 100% it's fine.

They are kinda right though, I wouldn't bother putting any other exotic on my Novalock in this state.

Well, that was easy. First heroic mission I did at the weekly reset I landed the Arbalest. It's fun to use.

But nowhere near as fun as the Telesto - crowd clearing joy.

They need to concentrate on buffing armour, especially for the Titan class! I can't see why the Ace of Spades needs a nerf? Odd.

Sooo......... did the xur bounties just Peter out or what? I completed the delayed one but there’s not one for this week. Did they or I fuck up or is that it? If so it seemed a bit pointless.

    Weird, it appeared for me.

You don't get much in the end (just another cutscene teasing what will either be D2 Year 3, or Destiny 3).

Maybe it because of when I completed the delayed one? Did it Friday morning before xurs reappearance.

    @ChiefGB
Invitations of the Nine are supposed to be completed before each Tuesday reset, not before Xur arrives. Hopefully, they will continue to appear for those of us who participated but missed a couple of (confusing) deadlines.

On a different note, I joined a couple of random fire-teams over the weekend trying to get the Thorn, but no dice. The last phase of the boss fight is brutal. I've lost count of the times we had to start over :( I need to check out suitable builds for it - not that I'm good at this stuff...

Yes, they will continue to be available until you did all (9, heh) of them. I believe since a recent update, you have until Xur reappears to complete them for him to offer you the next one in the same week.

Yep it is back up today. If you love the Crucible, it's for you... Or sittting through 9 games of hell in my case.

Make it 6 games. The special mode (Rumble last week, not sure this week) counts as Quickplay too. So you only have to play 3 competitive matches and 3 special mode matches.

I actually managed to win two of the three Rumble matches. I'm surprised, because I've always sucked in free for all, plus some of the players were clearly working together to prop each other up.

Could I ask a favour? Is there anyone out here that has a Thorn reward code that he/she is not going to use? My son wants that replica, but so far all my attempts to complete the Thorn strike are fruitless - probably because of me :(

In any case, if anyone is interested in sharing a code, please send it to jonfe at smmnet dot com. Thanks!

@JonFE sure, I don't mind. I'll send it as soon as I get the code in the mail.

But just so you know, I've read on Reddit that the build quality is pretty bad. Or maybe it was the Ace of Spades? Either way, I don't expect them to be too different.

@Malek86 Thank you a bunch, much appreciated!

Is the Ace that bad? I've had that on order, yet they delayed it back in January and I haven't heard anything back... Hmmm... Thanks for the heads-up, maybe I'll get him just the t-shirt :)

Edit: just received the code, thank you once again :)

@JonFE not sure if the shirt and the replica use the same code. Just in case, I'll send you the shirt code too. I don't care much for the collectibles anyway.

I might just get the Wayfarer pin simply because I can, but even that will be pretty expensive once I factor in shipping.

That's very generous of you, Malek!

Different codes for the shirt and replica? That's strange, but I guess bungie works in mysterious ways. As for shipping, for my orders from them I paid 9$ and 12.5$ respectively for shipping to Greece, but got stung by import fees which sucked...

@cov When you receive it, please keep us posted - my order has not been dispatched yet...

In other news, speaking of my son, I'm not ashamed to admit that last night I got him to play a crucible match instead of me (while I was doing Xur's invitation) and he nailed it. Up until the end he was leading and lost narrowly 19-20... Really impressed (and slightly jealous) of his reaction times

Finally some real info on Season of Opulence.

    https://www.bungie.net/en/pub/SeasonOfOpulence

The pinnacle weapons don't sound so good this time, but Menagerie should be fun (assuming you can always find enough players...) and being able to actually choose your loot might cut on grind times.

Plus, Truth is coming back in an exotic quest. Good times.

I absolutely hate the underbelly of the leviathan though, like really detest it, I find it very frustrating and always end up lost and the watchers can do one too. Hope they hit it out the park with this one because not looking forward to heading back in there.
