Yet another patch that lead to losing materials.
After the first-ever character rollback in Destiny's history two weeks ago, they're doing the second one right now...

I didn't notice that Bungie auto-completed parts of the Gambit pinnacle weapon quests due to an infamy bug. That means I just need to get shotgun kills and some medals to grab them. Maybe I'll play a few matches.

Toss a mote to your Drifter, indeed.
  • Deleted user 15 February 2020 15:22:15
Say what? Can't be arsed with Gambit but that sounds doable.

I've been playing PVP on PC with an Xbox controller, I perform pretty poorly on 6v6, but on 3v3 it seems extremely doable due to the less hectic nature of it. I find the 30 FPS of the console really tough to go back to now.

Definitely the best move. Playing on PC is way better in terms of framerate and I made the switch purely because of that. When PS5/XSX comes out it will be on par with that.

Also already did the gambit pinnacle quests before the bug so I am all good but now's the time to do it for those yet to get it :)

@AaronTurner mind, it's still a lot of medals and some 500 shotgun kills.

But since the infamy part has been auto-completed, that means I don't need to clear the quest in a single season anymore.
  • Deleted user 15 February 2020 15:44:07
Is it 500 guardian kills? If so feck that!!

@AaronTurner hell no, 500 enemy kills. But if you manage to kill a guardian, the counter goes up a lot faster.
  • Deleted user 15 February 2020 16:29:55
500 enemy kills seems very do-able, might give that a bash tonight!

Got the Python yesterday. I can't remember for sure, but I think it took me around ten Gambit matches. I'm still not too close to the Heroic rank.

I'm not usually a fan of low RPM shotguns because they usually have a long reload time, but Overflow makes that far less of a problem, and One-Two Punch is also nice for major enemies (and it stacks with Synthoceps for 13.5x melee damage). Guess I'll be keeping it.

Shame that you can't stack One-Two with shoulder charges, because it disappears too quickly.

Can someone tell me what's so special about Trials and why everybody is losing their minds?

Isn't it simply 3v3 with additional loot when on a longer streak?

Just a mode for the sweaties and streamers to dick wave in really. The only bonus is that it clears out PvE a bit while it's on and you tend to get matched with players you can actually stomach for more than half a Strike.

Expect campers, recovs, hackers and cheaters. Those are the reasons why I didn't play trials in the first place. I know it's early to tell but I think I may find season of the worthy very underwhelming so I probably think I will pass on that.

I skipped the entire last season and I think I'll do the same for this one save the odd Raid night. There's just nothing there that interests me and I can't stand the metafest shitshow that is the MP.

I enjoyed the Saint 14 stuff, so if youíve bypassed that, thatís a shame.

Yeah I'm a bit gutted I missed that season. I had flu for the first two weeks of it and couldn't be arsed playing any games and then when I went back to the PS4 I still had Shenmue III and Death Stranding to finish, so it just kinda slipped by me in the end.

Just looking for an opportunity to jump back in but I don't think this season is going to do it for me.

Anything with Saint 14 was very pleasant. I do say that I think this season was quite good. I think players who do plan to play trials shall be looking forward for a lot of Saint 14 motivation.

I'm not into PvP, but looks like there's some PvE content too. Guess I'll at least try to hit rank 100, as usual (will be harder this time since my job gets ruthless in the Spring season).
  • Deleted user 4 March 2020 13:21:23
I think you need to be level 960 to take part in trials. I'm nearly 30 below that so I can't see myself getting to play it. I guess I'll just have to stick with survival (which is the way Destiny should be played).

I remember really liking Destiny 1. I keep buying into Destiny 2, hoping it can recapture my love for the original game but me (and all the other clanmates) inevitability fall off pretty quickly.

Yeah I managed all the raids on d1 but only managed to get players to play through the first one on d2 and I didnít really enjoy that one as there was only one one boss.

Does anyone know if the Tests of Osiris will require an existing fireteam or will they support matchmaking with randoms?

We shall know soon, but assuming they use the same format as D1, it will require a fireteam.

Makes sense in this case, since it was the most competitive of all multiplayer modes. People have been known to ddos others just to get one more win in their streak. Doesn't sound very random friendly.

I'm more interested in the PvE modes. Legendary lost sectors sound interesting, but I bet they are going to be like the ones on the Moon, which are mostly boring affairs. It would be nice to get a public activity a little shorter than Altars of Sorrow. Something like the old Court of Oryx would be best. And maybe put a few Nightfalls on rotation for Ordeal, instead of constantly repeating the same strike.

Went in for a bit. Things look a bit different somehow.

    Including Ana's voice actress.

Sooooo, those legendary adventures are a real doozy eh. Recommended power 1000, not much chance of soloing then.

I didn't bother much with the last season, got to 960 and didn't really have much to chase so rather lost interest. It doesn't sound like there's much to go back to. Destiny 2 caters to the more extreme type of player these days, I can't be bothered with it anymore.
  • Deleted user 11 March 2020 06:38:07
I think there is more than ever to do in Destiny 2. I mainly play PvP which I love, but there is always something to aim for.

@b-rk I personally felt that D2 was more casual than hardcore compared to D1. To be fair I don't think I have plans to go back for a number of reasons. Gives me more time and focus on other games like Borderlands which was more fun to play than this. I'll go back to D2 when they go back to make content like they used to in D1.

There has been a lack of raids this ďyearĒ but seeing as I canít get enough players together to do one last few years thatís not content Iíd be wrecking anymore anyway.

Whatís the new soft power cap, 970? As i had a gear drop at 963 last night.

Maximum infused score of gear 1010 according to ingame menus, this must be excluding the artifact bump then?

There's definitely a focus on more hardcore players this season. Between the Trials and the new activities that all require a pretty high power level, I don't think people will be able to make any good progress in a while. Also, it looks like upgrading your bunkers will take a much longer time than the obelisks did. And far more resources.

And no ritual weapon apparently. Also stats have been removed from emblems in exchange of swappable ones, but they don't track your old stuff. And most of the new drops are just year 1 drops updated to the new armor system, which is still as expensive as ever.

Uhm. Can't say I'm all too pleased right now.
