So I just booked car hire in the UK through an Aussie site (drivenow) as it's well cheaper. It says on the confirmation "I'm in Australia", will they want proof of Aussie residence or not care? Any idea? |

I was thinking of that but when they question my Swiss driving license, I'll lose my cool

I've done that a few times within Europe (always with the big providers), no issues so far. I don't really think they care that much, as long as they have ID, billing address and card details and your driving licence when you pick up the vehicle.
Never tried to pretend being an Aussie though mate. -

And don't make the fatal mistake of carrying any cans of Foster's on you or your cover will be blown immediately. God speed -

Make sure you ask for a Ute, that should convince them.
