Registered 5 years agoMy girlfriend is angry that I'm double dipping, but it is by far the best Mario Kart game and one of the best racing games I've ever played, too. Playing online with EG folk was one of the best online gaming experiences I've ever had, too. There were some very close 3/4 way races at times!
I'm looking forward to the battle mode returning in full form as well. Shine Runners and the Bob-omb battles are great fun. It's a nice way to play when the racing isn't going your way.

Registered 14 years agoJust to echo Dave, I've had every single Mario Kart and still considered Super Mario Kart as the pinnacle of the series.
Number 8 beat it. It was sublime and only slightly borked by a poor battle mode. If they fix that then it's going to be perfect.
Just a lovely, lovely game. Two player against my mate after the pub was unbeleiavably close and fraught and exciting every time we played.
If you haven't played it, you're in for an absolute treat. -

Registered 18 years agoI can't fucking wait, despite owning MK8. Playing this in between bouts of Zelda is absolutely perfect.
One thing - do we know if it does 2-player using one set of Joycons? I'm guessing it will, but gunna be hard power sliding on those diddly little things. -

Registered 11 years agoI was expecting nothing less than stellar reviews to be honest. MK8 was a superb game lumbered on a shite console, having it on the Switch should be a superb fit.
I just hope it plays well on the individual joycons.... -

Yeah, for 'serious' play it's the least preferred option but it's fine for local multiplayer which should be all about having fun. -

Registered 14 years agoI thought it would be awful but it was surprisingly manageable on RMX.
The other option is to get some of those plastic shells that make the joycons the same shape as a regular controller - I might pick some up if it's too fiddly. -
