Hi, after playing overcooked with Mrs Papalazarou on Xbox one, I decided to dig the Wii out of the garage and we ended up playing MK and Tetris party for a few hours. I've also got Boom Blox.... Are there any other coop games we should be trying? Nintendo Land any good?

    Cheers

I'm guessing you mean Wii U because you mention Nintendo Land - which is great fun by the way.

In that case we used to play a lot of Pikmin 3 coop, it's great.

I'd definitely check out Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby's Epic Yarn and New Super Mario Bros Wii. They're all platformers, obviously.

One of my personal favourites is House of the Dead Overkill. Not sure if your missus will be into the zombie shooting theme, but I had lots of fun with that in co-op, and there is stuff to unlock and weapons to upgrade to give you a sense of progression. There are other lightgun style games that are pretty good too, like Ghost Squad (SWAT style).

I also had lots of fun with Thrillville: Off the Rails mini-games. Some of them are co-op, and that game can be picked up for almost nothing nowadays.

Is Rayman Origins or Legends available on Wii? They were great fun to play with my cousins

Likewise the Resident Evil lightgun-style games on the Wii, Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles. They basically revisit familiar scenes from the classic Resi games in co-op-enabled lightgun shooty form.

I loved HOTD Overkill, but its Grindhouse-style ultra-sweariness and gleeful political incorrectness (cripple jokes, etc) won't be to everyone's taste. You'll know your wives better than we do, unless they used to be our wives and are your wives now.

Have a look on this site - Co-Optimus - and set it to "Wii" and "couch co-op". Seems there are more co-op enabled Wii games than I thought, and they're all rated by users for how good they are in co-op play.

Lego Lord of the Rings jumps out as a good 'un. I enjoyed playing through that game in co-op on the Xbox 360.

Super Mario galaxy 1 and 2, switch between lives who's grabbing extra lives and enemies. Got the wife so much into gaming this way she beat SMG2 alone. Proud moment!
