So, Steel Division has been available for a wee while now as a beta and no thread yet so thought I'd post a little impressions to start.

Eugene have taken their Wargame series and taken it back to 1944. While I found the Wargame series to be too hard to play, mainly due to the speed and the need to micro well.

This is a bit lower paced due to the time period and that suits me just fine. Looks very nice and sounds great (apart from a few voices..).

3 allied and 3 German divisions so far with that going up to 9 on each side by launch. 3 maps so far but more to be added.

I'd recommend this to anyone that loved the Wargame series but felt put off by the speed.

Give me a shout some time, I have this and I kinda suck at it.

Definitely easier to get into than Wargame.

Will be a while before I play pvp, still getting to grips with 'easy' and 'med' ai :D

Instead of needing you to be a micro savant, the game looks for positioning and line of sight.

I should be AltTab on there neems, ScottishTabasco on Steam. Will give you a shout when I feel a bit more comfortable with the game.

Cool, I quite fancy a comp stomp some time, be a while before I can handle real opponents I suspect.

Just been an update, a couple of new maps (including one with elevation) and 2 new divisions, one French and another German (with Tiger tanks).

Spotted that this morning before I went to work. Both new divisions look really nice and both seem strong, will look into them at weekend.

Been having a look at what Youtubers like Sherm, Vulcan and BoltSauce have been doing the last couple of weeks, been learning a good deal.Vulcan and Bolt in particular are very good already.

Oh and its King Tiger tanks. Normal Tigers not in game yet and both the ability to only bring in 3 in phase c and the cost of 350 each will make me cautious to bring to my deck. In 10v10 spam games though I'd bring 'em :)

Some good changes and balancing in the patch too. They are definitely trying to improve and balance the aa/planes in particular.
