| It's twee and nice. That's why I like it. It's not trying to be edgy like ever other fantasy/sci-fi fiction show right now. |

Registered 16 years agoYeah, I've completely changed my opinion of it. I thought it was a shitty cover version at first but it's totally won me over.
Even the fruity holodeck episode was fairly well done. -

Registered 15 years agoIt's funny at times, but the actual storylines are fucking terrible. -

Registered 18 years agoHard disagree with that. I think it's fun and charming. It's even won over my wife who would never, ever watch Trek. -

Registered 15 years agoReally? Every storyline is completely formulaic. You can see where they're going with it before they've even started. It's just signpost after signpost. Plus all the shoehorning in of current topics (in the last couple of episodes it's been gender bias, dating against societal norms, anti-vaxxers, porn addiction).
Maybe it's just the terrible acting more than the writing then. I don't know.
Either way, I wont be back for another series. Like I said before, I can appreciate people enjoying it as "turn your brain off" comedy though.
Edit - I'm also willing to accept it's because I'm dead inside.

Registered 10 years agoI'm really enjoying it so far. The storylines need some work though to amp them up a lot and make them more engaging - even though it's often compared to TNG it's nowhere near the quality of that show when it was at its best. -

It certainly was, particularly season 1 (season 2 had a lot of rough episodes as well).

Registered 14 years agoI liked this episode but it was a poor choice to watch round the in laws after selling it as a comedy TNG. -

Registered 15 years agoI quite enjoyed the double parter with the big bad robots.
Predictable again, but decent scale to it.

Registered 15 years agoSo, just saw the season finale (US pace) and they apparently didn't blow their whole budget on the Kaylon episode...
And even though the characters are as two dimensional as they get it still felt like a better conclusion than Discovery...
Also Alara! And a jar of pickles!
Hope they get another season... -

Registered 18 years agoYeah it was a good one. A lot of references in it! Star Wars, Aliens, 2001, Abyss, Hunt for Red October, even Zombieland (the twinkie bit)
LOVED IT -
Wow the star wars homage was amazing. Emphasized the divergent timelines brilliantly. Didn't really see the others tbh...
