    I can definitely understand people not really enjoying it, especially given the way the marketing people are pushing it as one thing when it isn't really that at all. It's not really a spoof or a pure comedy, it's a sci-fi show with a sense of fun about it. It's not for everyone, but it is for me :)

    What is Seth Macfarlane like in it? Because I find him to be a deeply unappealing screen presence.

    He's still Seth MacFarlane. If you're not a big fan of Seth MacFarlane as an actor, it's very much still him. Similar to his character in A Million Ways to Die in the West, which was just Seth MacFarlane as a cowboy, except as a spaceship Captain instead.

    I really dislike him too, but I didn't mind him in this for some reason.

    I still feel this is more like Star Trek as I'd want it, as much I enjoyed Discovery for other reason. The fact we have both is awesome :)

    Whilst I'm still really enjoying this, I'm trying to decide if the taking material from two episodes of TNG and making one episode out of them is part of the point/charm or just straight up stealing.

    I was watching the credits on the latest ep, managed to catch the listing for the voice of the ship's computer:

    Rachael Macfarlane

    For about 15 minutes I thought that he'd done an awesome Star Trek tribute/homage, getting his wife to do the voice, much like Majel Barrett Roddenberry did them in all the previous series.

    Turns out it's his sister, as he's unmarried, and she already does voiceover work including a lot of his animated shows.

    @northernlights

    I thought it was due to start in a couple of weeks but now I can't find anything. Fox is on Now TV so I imagine you'll be able to watch it through that.

    14th December is UK debut, for those who've been unwilling /unable to source from elsewhere.

    Pointless. It needs to be same week, maybe two at the absolute latest. Ratings will be shit now because everyone's already seen it. And the worst thing is I really like it so I would like it to succeed!

    Something I've realised, for a show that's meant to be a Seth Macfarlane vehicle, he's actually not in it a lot in the latest eps; the stories are often focussed around the various crew members and Seth is just showing up to be the Captain and give an order. Whilst TNG did have eps like that occassionally, the vast majority of the eps revolved around Picard/Riker leading the way.

    I've noticed this has appeared on NowTV in the UK. Just the first episode so a weekly dribble...
