I detest the term but it tends to save time when you are talking about the music..

I love it, always have.. even though my formative years were spent embroiled in all things punk/hard rock/metal (dad was a session musician) some of the greatest gigs I've ever attended have been for Matt Monro, Mr Sinatra, Andy Williams etc

Does anyone else here share my enthrallment for the tunes? ..you show me yours & I'll show you mine!

    Oh yeah!

When I was growing up in the 70's, the only radio in the house was my Mum's in the kitchen, which was welded to Radio 2. While prog died, punk raged and new wave gave way to New Romanticism, I was walking to school whistling something by Jack Jones, Crystal Gale or Neil Diamond that Terry Wogan or Jimmy Young had played that day.

Got my own radio in '81, found Radio 1 and never looked back, but since then have always had a space in my record collection for the likes of The Carpenters, Abba, Fleetwood Mac, Neil Sedaka, Tony Bennett etc etc.

Quality never goes out of style.

There was plenty of crap around at that time too. It wasn't all great!

God yes - check out "The Departure Lounge" - internet radio, all things easy.

    Herb Albert - Tijuana Brass
Christmas with Bert Kaempfert - a must play on the 25th, my dad's favourite.
    Anything by Burt Bacharach.
    Rat Pack.
    Even 'Moon Safari' by Air?

    Love it :)

I don't think of Roy Orbison as easy listening so much as just damn good music. Burt Bacharach is absolute gold though.

Well this evening I was spinning Perry Como's "Greatest Hits" and Ackercocke's "Rape of the Bastard Nazarene" so how about... fuck you, you tasteless cunt.
When I bought that Ackercocke album there was some sort of problem with the order and I had to phone Amazon up about it, confirm the name and then have the Asian call centre lady read it back to me. So that was nice.
