    I reckon you'll shoot things.

    You know, something original.

    Rumours are that it's "Destiny-esqe".

And if those rumours prove true (i think it likely from the teaser) I'll be moving on.

Ancestors meets Halo meets Mass Effect meets Dark Souls. There you go.

I mean if it has all of that this could be interesting.

Looks very derivative. Where did Bioware's imagination go? Where is the imagination of Jade Empire, or Kotor?

This just looks like a hodge podge of influences feom Mass Effect, Titanfall and Destiny.

I'll reserve judgement for the full reveal, but that was pretty underwhelming as a teaser.

    Agreed.

It was only a few seconds long CG teaser so it's unfair to judge it on that until we've seen more, but it looked really uninspiring.

    Destiny x Horizon.

And given that the rumours hint at the gameplay structure being heavily inspired by Destiny, I don't think it looking so generic will do it much favor in the inevitable comparison stakes. For game they arrogantly described as "the Bob Dylan of videogames", at first contact it looks so... safe.

It's a crap name too imo.

Two titles based on existing universes count as imagination?

I was wondering about that as well.

It was based on Jade Goody's autobiography, the supernatural Chinese elements of which were often overlooked.

Why the hell is it called Anthem? It's neither a song and the trailer wasn't rousing.

Chinese mythology. It's as original as making a game about Yggdrasil, with a horse named Sleipner and a pig called Särimner.

Is Jade Empire any good? If say, I loved KOTOR and still think it holds up today, for example

I enjoyed Jade Empire and its setting. Admittedly that was playing around the original Xbox release but I can't imagine it aging too much.

No, it's not great. It gets a pass because it followed Kotor, but it's pretty boring and the end is stupid.

Jade Empire is alright. Just don't expect great gameplay though. I remember it being clunky, but the actual world and characters was pretty decent.

    EDIT: But forgettable.

So can we add Bioshock to the list of games this looks like it's heavily inspired by?
