Will they redo the controls or will it still play worse than something on a BBC Micro?

I think that looked closer to remake territory than remaster?

    It's a premake of the 2020 remaster.

Hmmm. My favourite game of all time with a lovely new coat of paint? Yes. Yes I believe I'd like that very much.

Loved this back on the PS2. Liked the PS3 remaster, though it didn't quite capture me in the same way.

At heart, I think Team ICO games require a bit of goodwill from the player. They've never been technically great and the gameplay, when you stop and think about it, is actually quite poor. They rely on you overlooking those things in favour of the game's artistic merits.

But after the Last Guardian, which I regard as a failure on a technical level, as a game and as art, I just don't think I have the store of goodwill to go back to SotC again. Even if the technical problems are fixed and the controls are reworked to be not-crap (something that TLG desperately needed), I just doubt I could work up the state of mind to properly appreciate this again. Not for the next few years, at least.

One of my favourite games ever. But they need to either ditch the time trials post-game or substantially rebalance the target times. Some are impossible without making use of physics glitches which aren't easily repeatable, and I'm sure there was an issue in the PS3 version where it was ridiculously hard to actually charge up your stab attack as any movement of the collosus triggered a stumble animation.

The last one was just a up res. From the video this looks like a full blown remake.

@Derblington From an artistic perspective, SotC was complex and multilayered. TLG is "daaaaw cute children and animals." Sentimental tripe. The gaming equivalent of UK Living (if that channel is still a thing).

Remaster of a remaster. Not a remake according to Sony's blog.

Whatever you want to call it it looks like they've completely redone the graphics.

All the Team Ico games have had incredibly original and compelling gameplay mechanics. What a load of toss.

Normally quite wary of remakes, but if one game deserves being brought into the modern age with the full scope of modern tech it is this one. Trailer looked beautiful, keeps the artstyle, but the detail is amazing.

ok so they've done some work rather than just re-issue the PS3 1080p version, but i feel it looks a bit odd now. the graphics look like they've been improved but in a bit of a superficial way - better grass, textures, etc. i feel like it really needs to be full the last guardian style to fit in with the 'canon'.

i will come eggs if they've got the last guardian composer to re-do the soundtrack, though. he's the best there is.
