Well, it looks and sounds outstanding. Gameplay wise, the camera can go do one. I've wrestled with it more than the first three collossi combined. Have vague memories of the PS2 version, but I forgot how much R2 holding there is.

    Still, spectacular cinematic experience.

@greg_wha Or you can set the function of the Share button in the (console) system menu... Mine is a quick press for screenshot, double press for video and hold the button to open the Share menu.

I nearly bought a PS4 at the weekend just to play this.

Only managed an hour first time around on the PS2 as the frame rate and controls ruined it for me.

Well, only one of those things has been addressed!

I thought the controls had been modernised?

I have the privilege of playing this for the first time in my life. Had a gaming hiatus between SNES and Xbox 360, and now have a PS4.

It looks incredible (Pro, with standard HDTV). The environment is sparse but the graphics rival most other contemporary games.

I drank in the introduction - I can't remember the last time I sat through cinematics so patiently. Already I'm feeling that vague sense of wonder, melancholy and conflict (which is about the only thing I know about this game, from having read about it so much over the years).

Only one colossus down (a tutorial colossus?). Piece of cake, though it still felt great climbing up the guy and enjoying the sheer scale of the event. Can already tell I'm going to love this. Played one of the 3D Castlevania games on the 360 that was clearly trying to emulate Colossus in its boss encounters, but was a pale imitation of this.

Think this is one of those games I'm going to ration and savour, as I won't want it to be over too soon.

@Daeltaja Just bottom mapping. The camera and movement are as the original.

    @andy10

    good man...;)
castlevania lord of shadows had a few encounters that were clearly influenced by this and the god of war series...

    1. I said this before and dude picked up on it too

    2. https://youtu.be/1hZjQHMq6oc from 31m30s - 32m03s, they cut 33 seconds of very significant content!

Still a worthy remaster but why cut and snip, ☹️

I love this game, still gets a 10/10

Holmes has done what, 3 games and he's better than Kojima.

I'm 5 beasts down and the Dunkey review pretty much summarises how I feel about it.

"Something every gamer should experience at least once, but you'll have to deal with some really annoying shit"

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you here, but that scene was not cut from the remake.

@Dr.Haggard dude, it was. I haven't seen it (I'm doing another playthrough so I'll check again but I'm sure it's not there).

@pacrifice It's there. I just checked a random play through on youtube to be sure I hadn't imagined it, and in doing so realised they changed the music for the scene which I hadn't noticed, but it's definitely in the game.

@Dr.Haggard yes, just checked too and same.

So it's in there except, not precisely in there! Checked a quick YouTube walkthrough for the remaster, the piano score is different - I guess I was playing the game and I didn't take in the edited scene as was expecting the original.

I swear I wasn't asleep during the entire game but strange how I don't recall seeing it myself when it did play. Hmm

On the 7th and driving myself mad trying to just get on the damn thing. Absolutely infuriating

@cowell Not sure if you're looking for tips, but just in case:
swim near him until you get his attention, his eyes should turn orange and he'll head towards you, then try to use the lights on his body as pseudo-landing strip lights - if you stay between them as he swims under you, his tail should then emerge in exactly the right place for you to grab on (frantically pulling R2!)
. It took me a stupid amount of time to get this right, so rest assure that you cannot be doing worse than I was :)

Bit harsh, absolutely destroyed the 8th Colossus and did it without him turning over......No gold trophy.

Third gold trophy I have been fucked out of in the last two weeks, really should give up on them.

Er, Iíve found myself playing other things at around the fifth or sixth colossus again.
I need to dive back in before I permanently park it yet again and then end up attempting once more on the PS5.

Was so good playing Zelda in Jan after years of trophy whoring. Now just banged three hours into Golf Story and just enjoying the game without having to think about guides or anything. This is more like it.

You could just do what normal people do and completely ignore the trophies and achievements?

That is indeed what I am going to start doing.
