Those shitty dragonseal earrings I got last night doing arena quests, its because I'd completed all the HR arena quests at B rating or better.

So, there are only a few Arena quests at each rank??
I somehow thought that more would unlock once I'd done the first handful.

I finished the weekly Bounty this morning. Which i then used to get an Odo gem and then made the top level Odo Twin Blades - Sin.

No, they supplement the arena quests with event/challenge quests, which in many cases don't bother recording your time.

Well, it records the time on some leaderboard/world rankings with hundreds of pro player taking 90secs or so...... yeah, just use Arena quests for the rare craftable gear.

And fire us invites if you want, happy to break the War Thunder addiction at times.

Cool. I will certainly take you up on that.
I missed out on the end of the Kulve event because I was trying to get to bed early in anticipation of the triathlon I did last Sunday.
Next one isn't till August Bank Holiday, so I am back in the hunting groove

Me neither. For the first time I missed out on a time limited event with the HR Ryu skin. I'm not sure I have it in me to play the KT event just to try to farm for more gems or one or two of the weapons, so will need to wait for the next big new content drop before I jump back in.

Which is a shame of all of you, because they tweaked RNG last week and the last 5 days the game's been showering me with hero streamstones I can actually use.

/probably still normal RNG, and I've just jinxed it.

Edit, the other thing that's changed is that there's a chargeblade glitch which I don't pretend to understand, which has gone quite mainstream, which means you can do a 4 player TempTeostra in a little under 4 minutes.

I could never get on with the charge blade. Coming from the switch axe it just required a little too much micromanagement for my feeble brain.

If I thought for a minute I could get the KT version of the Odoggy lance I'd come back but after farming the entire event last time and not getting a single rarity 8 lance and only 2 gems I'm wiped.

I need to get better at anticipating that huge fire/lava attack that Kulve does. By the time I put away my lance and start running its too late!!
    Options must be
    a) get better at reading the 'tell'
    b) use a more manoeuvrable weapon

In other news I got 3 gold crowns from Wildspire Bolero. Which was nice. :)

If you're lucky enough to have a Guard Up deco then dealing with the AoE attack is easiest with lance. You can outright block it and it only drains your stamina, but you can even mitigate that by moving forward while blocking. For some reason it eliminates the stamina drain, plus you'll look like a boss while doing it. :)

That's if you have Guard Up, obviously. Also, I tend to get out of tight spots by just charging. Startup is a bit quicker than putting your weapon away, although it's a bit risky.

I think I have Guard at lvl 4 or 5. Not sure on Guard Up - although, don't you get that from Uragaan armour?

Just after dying I think, 'I could have charged away from that.' And then forget it for the next time!

Yep, other than the deco I think the Uragaan set bonus is the only other place you can get Guard Up. You have to have that to be able to block it though, as it's considered one of the special attacks you can block. Having the deco is great, it means you're not forced to look like a golden armadillo, and you can stack attack skills instead.

I run guard at level4 and guard up from the Uragaan set, and the Deviljo lance with a health augment. I'm basically invincable against KT.

If KT rears up and you guard, the guard/shuffle is a good opportunity to re-position so that you can instantly start high-jabbing her in the face once she's finished flaming.

Guard Up (and Resuscitate) available on a craftable charm too, and Fireproof mantle is your next helpful item on at least one burst.

Fighting near the centre pillar so that you can run up and avoid a bit is also advised, and if you do get hit, don't be in a rush to get up. You're invulnerable after it initially hits, so stay on the floor and you'll only suffer minor damage towards the end of the burst.

I always eat for elemental resist against KT- stops you catching fire and as long as you don't cart, lasts longer than the mantle.

So yeah. Not touched this in... months? Also don't see myself coming back until a major bit of content drops.

Problem is, it's on console and not handheld. Handheld I can play as a distraction on the commute, and it's great for that. When I get in, I'd rather fire up some DBFZ or basically anything else without having to worry about a grind in MH to make mediocre equips and jewels. Bleh.

Had a good run though at over 200 hours.

    Oooh, good thinking.
I remember you mentioning that when we were playing it online the last time around.

'gaan armour and eating for elemental resistance worked very well.
Any problems now due to my own ineptitude!!

Comes with *huge update tomorrow. Gamma armour, arch-tempered monsters, new layer armour and more.

Guess I'll better finish the weekly tonight.

Make sure to do your weeklies, fellas, KT's gem is at the melder! :)

New monsters are exciting and all, but of most interest to me is that you can now get the Brigade set as a layered armour.

If you're doing the event quest against Nergi,Lunastra and Teo, remember to leave Nergi until last - killing him first (as most SOS groups do) causes Teo to spawn (Lunastra is already on the map), and those two are tough to fight as a pair.

Plus, if you leave him alive, Nergi will have turf wars with both of the other two, earning you free damage.

There's a new mantle, the Temporal Mantle, that auto-evades for you. That sounds, errr, pretty OP.
