I've got you already from our DS3 antics with Wunty.

I pre ordered MHGU on switch last night. Excited to get on that at the end of the month.

Fonzie, add us: ossoviet. Probably around tonight (but on thon 'other' game), so if I see you online I can hop onto MHW and get you into the squad, so meeting up will be a tad easier.
I'll add you in a moment. I should be online tonight.
Actually, I already have you added as well.
Aha, so you have. I've now remembered trying to hop in to send an invite, but the PS4 gets irky over resume (I presume) showing 17/16 lobbies and suchlike.

Behemonth is live, and from what's been posted this morning you'll want to add the new FFIV "jump" emote into your radial dial short-cuts, - it allows you to avoid the Meteor attack. Hopefully it hangs around because it looks useful for Teostra's supernova too*

    https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunter/comments/93w0de/final_fantasy_xiv_jump_gesture_can_avoid_death/

Also, widespread complaints the monster is impossible solo (they've been warning as much in the daily log-in message.), so be ready to team up, team.

Arch tempered Teostra and Windydragon incoming straight after.

Reddit says you get given the jump emote in story leading up to the battle.

It also says you need a tank (Guard 5, Guard Up) to get and hold agro, a wide range healer to keep said tank alive.

I'm off all weekend, so feel free to message me if I'm on the 'usual'. Guess I'll set up two tanks, one lance and one HBG.......

Tank role suits my preference for Lance.
I'm sure I have Guard 5 somewhere - Uragaan set probably. Might need to upgrade the pieces though..

    @Alastair

Yep, so a squad session will be fine.
Uragaan only has Guard 3 as default btw, so there's work to be done there. Think I've only got one extra Guard jewel too.....

Might have a practice look the now actually.

I'm looking forward to the PC/Steam launch in about a week. It'll be my first outing into the series.

Anyone else here about to play mainly on PC?

Guard charm I think.. I'm 99% sure I've had Guard up at 5.

Fonzie and I did the herbivore and rathian egg quests last night. I was, yet again, reminded of when you helped me with it on MHTri. I contributed a bit more to the quest completion this time!

Taking a crack at Behemoth tonight, absurdly excited to get a Dragoon set and Moogle, or more likely, wipe repeatedly.

For some reason I'm incredibly excited to get MHGU, even if it's a step back from World.

Pupil becomes the teacher yadda yadda.......

As for that tank role, you're more than welcome to it......

Think I've suddenly become a fan of staying mobile. Better find my elusive mic too I suppose, there's going to be a lot of screaming angst against this. :D

Bought the X1 version of this game. Overwhelmed by the menus etc. but I want to enjoy this series so much!

I've pre-ordered the Nintendo Switch version from Nintendo (with Monster figure!) in the hopes it's a bit easier for new players to access...my hopes aren't high!

@Matt36 I would say world does a better job of explaining the ropes. If you ever want s Sherpa I can log onto the Xbox and run you through a few of missions

Nope. MHW is easily the most forgiving, simple MH ever.

Which tells you a lot about how complicated the other iterations are!!

Damn, Behemoth is HARD. I've generally managed to beat most things with a few tries via SOS, Tempered Kirin was the most trouble I'd encountered, but I gave Behemoth multiple tries last night and wiped every time.

He hits like a truck, that much is given, but we almost always fail with his ultimate meteor attack. He actually casts it multiple times during the fight and every try, one or all of us would get destroyed. If not because there were no comets to hide behind then because we were too slow. I've seen people say they tried for hours without a win.

    I freaking love it.

I read some interesting thing, strategy wise - he casts tornadoes, and you can interrupt this by flahing him. However, he casts tornadoes when one person (ideally the tank) has agro, and flashing him removes the agro, so Behemoth then starts hitting everyone again.

Apparently the right thing to do is have the tank get agro (by hitting behemouth in the face), then lead him away from the 3 tornadoes that he casts. If you can then back up against a wall, the attacks on the tank won't result in push back.

Whilst he's attacking the tank, everyone else can hit the tail relatively safely.
