|I wonder if I am suffering by not having any gamma armour pieces..|
Monster Hunter World • Page 144
Not keeping up to date will indeed cripple you.
19mins, skulls but 3 feints, 23mins dead, 21mins dead......
Hits hard, but still gets destroyed with a leech Gunlance build. Even with armour at 500+ there are a couple of nasty combos.
Just managed my first AT Vaal.
Argos finally dropped the price of God Eater 3 to the magic mark (around £30) so I picked this up today.
I am looking forward to some Anime Monster Hunting. Did anyone else grab this?
Now that I've cracked AT Vaal I have a couple of decent recovery armour sets.
Although, not good enough for AT Nerg. He's gone now, so back to grinding for crowns...
1 step closer...
Large B 'Blos crown get
4 to go......
Iceborne Beta available this weekend.
PS Plus required.
6.1GB is reasonable, can get that downloaded overnight. Thought it'd be huge, but I vaguely recall the first beta for World itself.
Sat night/Sun for a meetup ? I'm down after a little solo practice to get back into it.
Sat night should be an option..
Is it available for download now?
Downloaded and ready for the weekend!
Will download tonight, should be good for a session over the weekend
Done the first two quests.
Slinger claw just feels like another way to mount. I know there's more to it, like enjoying your slinger pouch, but I need to learn the button combos..
....like enjoying your slinger pouch....I errrrr, think you meant "emptying", but that doesn't sound any better on reflection. O_o
I'm liking a few of the changes, lance is pretty much lance, but being able to shoot the slinger while guarding is a tad fiddily. Bowguns have had a real step up, not only with swanky ammo feeds but the double-dodge reload move for LBG (making it more bow like), and a super-sniper scope for HBG (increases sweet spot damage).
The clutch claw thing seems a nice addition, and better players than I will be having a blast with it, but it seems very situational and a bit too much faff in a battle for moi.
The new elk is very Barroth-like, and Tigrex hits like a truck, ridiculous damage if unguarded. Slightly annoying in that he still has legacy hitbox shennanigans around his rear legs. Grrrrr.
But yeah, it's all very nice, and now just wondering if these changes fall back into MHW itself ?
I only tried the greatsword and didn't really figure out the new moves but do enjoy the clutch claw as an additional move.
Managed to finish all three missions, though tigrex was only in a quick mp session. Mostly I just enjoyed fighting a couple new World monsters.
I got Tigrex to go to sleep, but only had about a minute left.
I'm sure I'll get him tonight. Will try to get online tonight if I can...
How does MP work in the Beta? Do we get a code and share it? There can't be squads..
Code for a room and you can then choose stay in it after each mission.
Multiplayer, choose a quest and host a lobby (can be set to private). Above the player list there's a 12 digit code ---- ---- 0000. Can post/message the first eight digits and players can join via that.

Really glad Glavenous is getting added, it was my favourite monster in mhgu. Could definitely leave Brachydios though, I thought he was just annoying.

Anyone found a particularly cheap preorder option for Iceborne?
I'm still confused with all the options, but I found this:
If you don't have the base game already:Over our side, it seems we're getting the option of Deluxe or Standard DLC-only on the PSN store, at £42 or £35. The deluxe seems to be the only way of getting the "Silver Knight" layer armour, along with a few trinkets/stickers (but like the MHW Deluxe stuff, the samurai armour, probably available seperately later).
Master deluxe $80 - physical copy of base game with iceborne already in it along with the steelbook. Also comes with the deluxe kit with has the silver knight armor and all that jazz.
Regular deluxe $60 (Gamestop exclusive) - No physical copy or digitally copy of base game, only digital redeem code for iceborne along with steelbook. also comes with the deluxe kit with silver knight armor.
If you already have the base game:
Also $60 standard edition - Just base game with iceborne expansion
Digital deluxe edition $50 - digital iceborne redeem code with the deluxe kit that includes the silver knight armor and other minor goodies.
Iceborne expansion $40 - digital copy of expansion and nothing else
Retailers are carrying the Master Edition, which includes both MHW and Iceborne on one disc supposedly (sneaky download code for Iceborne perhaps ?) but no deluxe bonuses, usual £40-45 everywhere. Haven't seen the Deluxe Master with the statue etc available here for ridiculous money, but that might be an exclusivity deal still to work out. No option for Deluxe DLC on it's own here.
And if you want the Yakumo layered armour, that's awarded with a pre-order wherever (again, might be up later like the Origin set was in a featured quest).
For me, it'll depend on how big Iceborne is with my crap internet - 10/15GB and I'll splash out on the Deluxe DLC, otherwise I'm better off just getting another disc.
Bonus reward pack coming, with a free Attack jewel.
Also, all festivals are running again, for a week each starting 26 July.

Think I'm near the end of the story in this. Nergigante went down a few days ago and I took down Teostra earlier today. Been going generally slow with it as I have a regular co-op party and we're trying to make sure we don't get too far ahead of one another. Been Greatsword for me for most of the game, after an early experiment with Dual Swords.
Still plenty of grinding to go...
Right, that's the three monsters you get quests for in parallel done. Guessing what's up next might be a bit final boss-y.
Took some time out to do a Deviljho first, though. That was a nasty fight... though not as bad as Nergy.
Vaal Hazak gives you the opportunity to craft an armour set that has decent health regen ability.
Also, 'Jho weapons tend to be pretty good.
