Lol, but we shouldn't sit in judgement of those that enjoy those games. My daughter is a proper educated gamer, she started with Lion King on the SNES, then Street Fighter 2, also on the SNES. She's progressed though a none judgemental pedigree, though I steered her in certain directions. She played PC games, console games above her literacy at the time, but they were intended to be the ones she enjoy, and so the counter was true also. I have tried to do the same with my nephews, but they are not only a different breed. Apart from being boys not under my influence, too a man they are their fathers children. My brother is one of the most competitive people I know. His son plays FPS's and sports games almost exclusively. I can get him to play Zelda and Mario when he comes to see me, but he has told me he won't admit it to his mates. My brother in laws eldest, the youngest is not two years old yet, loves Mario because his dad does. And that is cool, there are a damn fine plethora of Mario games for a five year old to start exploring. But he will not embrace a game that doesn't feature Mario. It took me three days to convince him that Yoshi's Woolly World was a game to try. I had to go through a gamut of games to show him Yoshi's a Mario character. I may be being overly concerned about his habits considering his age, but I'd have thought games like Rocket League would be of interest. The simplicity of such game, coupled with the ease into competitiveness are the staples of gaming. But my daughter knows that I am a stubborn bastard. And I do not like shitty practises, be it releasing broken games, generic games, what should be updates over a 'new release'. I think that there are so many shit publishers out there, but you have to have a balanced approach. I wouldn't recommend an EA game to you unless it was blisteringly, blindingly good. |

Registered 16 years agoYears ago I couldn't convince a friend that EA had ever been a publisher that generally published an interesting lineup of original games that were mostly of good quality.
I wonder if that will be the fate of the likes of Konami and Capcom one day when newer gamers simply can't believe they were anything more than the hollowed out shells they became. -

Yeah not the same. They would be more like the publisher who does Dan Brown novels or Jim Davidson's autobiography.

Also, I just bought penguins poems for life this week and I don't have any of the symptoms of aids.
Case closed. -

Prior to Need for Speed Undercover, Mirrors Edge was played and abandoned early on, as they had over complicated the control system, ruining what could have been a good game.
I broke the first rule of gaming - *never buy an EA game*
yea ea never made or published good games ever apart mirrors edge and mass effect and titanfall 2 and PVZGW and classic bf games and dragon age and unravel and skate and dead space and kotor and crysis and the burnout series and the sims and quite a few good fifa and most wanted and a few others throughout history good thread m8 well done
Admittedly Burnout 2 was excellent. This was Criterion in their prime, before EA took over completely. -
