Are you asking if an i7 with a 1070 is better than an i5 with a 1060?

    What motherboard are you using?

No use having all those fancy toys if they have to interface through a Tandy.

Is it a winmodem though? Can't run your Red Hat Linux with a winmodem.

    Mobo? PSU?

If you're just buying something prebuilt, why even ask an opinion?

    Filthy peasant.

The modem is essential, you'll be able to "network" with other computers and mainframes.

Seriously though... The second one is much better. You want a 1070 if you can afford it.

What monitor / resolution? The 2nd machine is probably overkill for 1080p.

I'll assume that buying pre-built is the only way to get through the ridiculous price inflation in the GPU market right now.

Still, let's the first PC is good enough for 1080p, and the second PC for 1440p. Take a look at your monitor and choose wisely.

Not to mock you or anything but how long ago was it your passion?

What site are you on that is still listing a modem as an asset?

The second one has a 500gb SSD and a 1tb HDD? or 1tb total of which 500gb is a SSD (and therefore only a 500gb HHD)?

The 2nd one has the unlocked 7700k i7, are you planning to overclock it? If so what motherboard are you putting it on? What motherboard supports DDR4 ram AND has a modem?

They probably just mean it has ethernet or wireless or something.

How much do they cost more importantly?

His Mum wanted to use the fax machine, so he had to unplug his modem.
