I'm not really wishing for anything, other perhaps for you to settle down a tad.

Ritchie seems to like hiring american actors to play British icons - would be fun seeing his casting choice for Bond if nothing else.

Next Bond will be a woman, innit?
  • Deleted user 25 July 2017 12:31:16
I'd take Nolan over Richie any day.

Having said that, a Bond movie based in London which is a bit of a crime caper rather than an international ,save the world against shadowy organisation type film, might be different enough to be interesting.

Only Bond though innit. Tits, guns, rape in the shower, gimmick bad guy, cheeky one liner. Pretty sure one of the directors of an episode of Coronation Street could have a good go at it.

The New York Times say Craig is confirmed for the next movie.

So.....a continuation of the Casino Royale-Spectre story arc, or a new standalone movie?

Part of me would like to see Craig vs Waltz again (but done well) but i also feel like they took that story arc too far.

Keep it simple and remake OHMSS i say.

Here are some directorial choices that I think could be interesting:

    - If you want more emphasis on gorgeous visuals: Tom Ford
    - If you want a grittier film from a home-grown director: Paddy Considine
    - If you want a female director that can do grown-up drama: Jane Campion
    - If you want to reward a current acclaimed director with an even huger budget: Denis Villeneuve

Denis Villeneuve would be an awesome pick. I admire pretty much all his work, specially the massively underrated Enemy. However, I guess it is time for Nolan to take the wheel. He does take himself seriously, and his Bond wouldn't (won't?) be a light hearted Bond movie, but then again his Batman trilogy wasn't light hearted either and it fucking worked.

And please, PLEASE, make Radiohead compose the song.

    Director - Nolan
    Bond - Craig
Theme - get Adele or Sam Smith back, just give them better fucking songs to sing
Plot - OHMSS remake or at least similar (Bond suffers personal tragedy, goes rogue from MI6 to get revenge)

    Done. Ticket bought.

Nolan would ace the cold heartless Bond, but it'd also explain itself to death and/or turn it into a puddle-deep psychodrama with some cool action.

    HERE IS BIG WEIGHTY THEME
    DO YOU UNDERSTAND IT YET
LET US EXPLAIN IT TO YOU
    Zimmer soundtrack BWAAAAAARGHHHHH
    ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?

Don't get me wrong, I always enjoy the films, and I don't think Bond is some sacrosanct thing, but yeah, not some 'instant-win' for me.

As original as 'I really like his films I think they are good'?

Or is it only criticism that must be original?

Nolan wouldn't be able to do tongue in cheek. I don't think there's a single funny bit in any of his films, unless you count Bane's voice in TDKR.

I assume that's directed at Inception or Interstellar but I recommend watching some of his other films.

Batman Begins, Insomnia, Memento, The Prestige and Dunkirk are all enjoyable, layered movies that focus on characters and scenarios rather than "weighty themes".....I recommend them.

Is it just possible that this is all conjecture and we have no idea who is directing or is UltrasoundWave cinema Jesus?

Read somewhere that Cara Delevingne is being considered for a role as a Bond girl.

Umm...no! Certainly not the female lead.

I read somewhere that this is the time that anyone who has tits or a penis is in someway connected to the new bond film.

    No it's equally boring.

Having Nolan do a bond film is like having Spielberg do something like a star was film. The film will be decent enough and a big event film either way, why wouldn't anyone that likes their find want them to do something original.

After 25 films and the last few being ok, if not great, then there's not going to be any radicals change made for the better by anyone, not in a franchise this big with producers who want to play safe.

So basically any opinion in this thread is boring then.

Not just this thread, it'll have to be the whole forum. Any opinion ever is now boring, except the very first person that ever expresses an original opinion that has never been expressed by anyone before. Once they have, no one is allowed to agree. If anyone disagrees, no-one is allowed to agree with that opposing point of view. That's it for that discussion forever. It'll be a real time saver in the long run.

Tom Hardy at the time he did Inception would have been perfect.

Since Bane, I don't think he actually does dialogue anymore, preferring to communicate through growling. Can't see that being a good fit for Bond.
