Yes, Bond films were completely free from product placement and corporate influence before this tragedy.

MGM don’t own Bond, they’re the distributor until the next negotiation.

I think the bond films have been bastions of product placement since at least the Bronhom era. Cars, watches, phones.

Did like when the tank smashed through that Perrier truck.

Well, I hoped the story was BS. Good if it is.

Why would you care what conglomerate owns the distribution rights to a particular franchise?

Kind of disappointing. Too much like Skyfall and Spectre. Second half of the song is better.

It's very Bond template, but it's a very bloody good take on the template.

Meh, thouroughly bored of that style now, a retro Live And Let Die job would have been more fun.

The Eilish theme is better than I expected. Very much a template job but better than Smith's effort, at least.

Something different could be good going forward, but doubt focus groups would allow anything too exciting.

I like it. Shame they going to spoil it by putting it on a James Bond film though.

    Aah, aah
You better beware, you better take care
You better watch out if you've got long black hair
He'll come from behind, you go out of your mind
You'd better not go, you'd never know what you'll find
    Aah, aah
You look in his eyes, don't be surprised
If you don't know what's going on behind his disguise
    Nobody knows where puncher goes
He'll steal your woman out from under your nose
Does anyone know the way, did we hear someone say
We just haven't got a clue what to do
Does anyone know the way, there's got to be a way
    To Cuntpuncher!

Cuntpunchers are forever, they are all I need to please me
They can stimulate and tease me
They go splooge in the night
I've no fear that they might desert me
Cuntpunchers are forever, hold one up and then caress it
Touch it, stroke it and undress it
I can see ev'ry part, nothing hides in the heart to hurt me
I don't need love, for what good will love do me?
    Cuntpunchers never lie to me
For when love's gone, they'll splooge on
Cuntpunchers are forever, splooging round my little finger
    Unlike men, the splooges linger
Men are mere mortals who are not worth going to your grave for
I don't need love, for what good will love do me?
    Cuntpunchers never lie to me
For when love's gone, they'll splooge on
    Cuntpunchers are forever, forever, forever

Thought it was too similar to Skyfall and never really got doing. Bit boring, but also they’re always way better in the cinema with the visuals.

Thinking about it, the vast majority of Bond themes are a bit forgettable.

Sure you have a few Goldfingers, Live and Let Dies, Diamonds are Forevers, but I can't recall most of the themes at all. I know they existed, like that Madonna one. But I can't recall it at all.

So this track is pretty much on par.

The best bond theme is still this

I think there’s only one Goldfinger, Live and Let Die and Diamonds are Forever.

Erm... I think everyone is forgetting the absolute banger that is The Living Daylights by Ah ha.

But, srsly, I think most of the ones up until the dalton era are fairly well remembered. FYEO, Nobody Does it Better and View to a Kill and so on and so forth.

It’s hard not to apply your own bias. Bond was a big deal in my house growing up and we used to play the compilation tape in the car all the time, and whenever a new Bond came out we all got excited about the song. So to me it was the Brosnan era when they took the dip, Goldeneye excepted.

I do agree with the comments that ever since the reboot they’ve all been way too similar though. The system they had in the old days of having John Barry write the song with the artist was so clever as it meant it sounded ‘Bondy’ but also sounded like the artist. That’s completely gone now which is a real shame.

Same. And Moore was my guy, so I can pretty much sing all those themes in my sleep.

To the point where for years I genuinely couldn’t work out why people didn’t like A View to a Kill. It had the most banging theme tune that got you pumped.

“You know my name” is my favourite, Cornell was fantastic on that.
