    Hey!

I'm trying to remember a game that must have released a few years ago but for the life of me I can't remember it's name or platform.

Visually it was unique which is my only clue. It was in 1st person, but you could only see outlines of objects as you approached them in near field of view. Black and white for the background and the objects. Really simple but striking visually. It might have been a kind of maze game, but the maze was not being able to see everything until you approach a wall or door way.

This is a vague description but I think if you played it you'd likely remember the name. I'm pretty sure I saw it reviewed here maybe 3 or 4 years ago.

    Help appreciated.

    Cholo?

It's either that or the original Dog-faced Knight on the MSX only released in Japan, with the actual title that literally translates as whore with stick and bitch face, but we don't talk about that.

Can I hijack this and ask for help with a old Amstrad CPC464 game.

I remember a sort of isometric game with a wizard character, I played it when I was under 10 yr old.

Seem to remember graveyards and was a mix of these game, graphics like the first link and a theme like the second link

Googled it for years and never could find out the exact game, maybe my mind is playing tricks on me with it.

Feud - bloody Hell, that was the creepiest game I've ever played. That sound effect, at least on the Spectrum which didn't have the background music, of when the other wizard is suddenly on screen was terrifying :

Just a really tense game based on er...collecting herbs.

@KD Was it The Great Escape, or Where Time Stood Still?

    Or more like Nightshade?

It looked most like Pentagram but maybe not isometric, could have been side scrolling (without the scrolling heh), played as a wizard looking fella and seem to remember graveyards.

At the time I had 2 black bags full of games and another few bags full off a mates father when he upgraded to a Amiga and I was in infants/primary school so my memory might be failing me on this.

Loads of the games were basic even for those days so afraid little is known of some of them and lost to time. Thanks for the help tho!

There’s a game which came out on Steam a while back. It was a sort of 2 games in 1.

It had 8 bit graphics (I think) and it was a kind of space exploration game which had a top down view and looked like it had shoot-em-up elememts to it. You could travel to different galaxies and do space trading. Once you were docked in a spaceship, the game changes into a kind of an RPG.

I’m sure I didn’t imagine this. May even have been Recommended by EG. Any ideas?

@beastmaster Space Rangers perhaps? Or maybe Space Pirates and Zombies?

There are a bunch of games that fit your description to some extent actually. Hell, even the age old Star Control sort of fits the bill.

    @JoeBlade

Not any of those. It kind of had a Uridium type look. Hmm...will trawl through reviews later. Or is it on Stem Early Access? That may be it.

    Could've been Heat Signature too:

That has you flying a spaceship through the galaxy, boarding ships to take them over. You can enter stations too, talk to people, take on missions and purchase gear.

Graphically it's retro. Like Hotline Miami, in SPESH!
