I haven't played PC2 yet but one of the biggest gripes I've heard is the AI, and Forza 7 has terrible AI too. It's a real strength in F1 though, not mind blowing by any stretch but they're very aware, and generally race hard but fair. If you're on the inside they will give you room to avoid an incident, but they'll also push you wide if you're on the outside.|
Also it handles great on a pad and a wheel, which isn't the case for the other titles.

All agreed there, just did first 3 races and It was enjoyable racing, even the little tasks in practice sections. Could do with not having to open a laptop all the time though.
Iím on pad, very good I think, just need to ramp it up to appropriate level on the difficulty scale.
Yeah I've gone through a process of notching it up by 5 points each time I have a race where I clearly outperform where the car should be. The only issue it does have is the AI being much quicker in qualifying than the race, so you may end up with your ideal difficulty putting you slightly behind where you should be on the grid and finishing slightly ahead in the race.

Ha, yeah the one thing that annoys me about this game is how bloody long it takes to open a laptop/ tablet
Given this thread has been more active than the 'main' one...
Impulse purchased this game today, playing on PC. Game runs well with the exception of occasional, severe slowdown/stutter. If I disable vsync I get 70-80fps so it's not that my PC can't handle the game.
So far in my limited testing of the game and its settings, I only came across this during wet races. Is this a known issue or can this be fixed with a gfx settings change somewhere?
Have clocked less than 2 hours so far so very tempted to just get a refund. It's game breakingly bad and annoying as the game *can* run smoothly.
I don't have this issue, what's your GPU/CPU? I've got a RX470 and i5 4690k.
i7 6700HQ with 4GB GTX960m. Can run the game on High settings and most of the time it runs smooth, but every so often (maybe once or twice a lap) this stutter sets in. drops 10-20 frames and lots of lag.
Steam forums do have a fair few posts about this it seems.
Edit.. requested a refund in the end. Issue occurred with lower settings too. Spent the last two hours faffing about with settings, to no avail.
Pity as the underlying game seems pretty decent.

@Decks possibly not.
This will do. Picked up 2018 in the sale as I'm getting sick of waiting for Dirt 2 and it's surprisingly great. The handling and FFB are a huge step up from what I can remember from the previous one. RECOMENNDED

Just try not to take the first corner pileups online too personally and there's a very good game there.
Yeah it's miles better than 2017.
Shame the cars sound so shitty now. Really hits it home when you do one of the invitationals in the older cars how dull the cars sound now.
Speaking of that, the upgraded sound model is amazing, sounds like real life for the hybrids, although the V10s/V8s still sound better in Assetto Corsa.
