    I’m searching for an English-speaking forum that covers European Union affairs, mostly politics, society, and culture. I know there is Reddit, but I’m searching for a higher level of discussion.

    Please PM http://www.eurogamer.net/profiles/LetsGoAGAIN as they are easily the most informed user on EU affairs.

    Try the daily mail comments section, that's usually split 50/50 between EU debate and immigration debates.

    EG is maybe not the best place to come then. If you ever want an in depth discussion on enemy mine, salt or shitting on chairs though, this is the place to be.

    @bladdard it's not like I like my stupidity tolerance tested ;-)

    @richarddavies that's why I ask.

    @challange_hanukkah, @BreezeDancer555 thanks

    @abumarkey

    The 'Post Poll...Britain decided to' thread on here discusses Brexit and I'm sure any general EU chat would be well received.

    You won't get much debate about Brexit because everyone here is pro-remain except for a few people that aren't smart enough to argue back. But there are some bloody bright people there so at least you'll have people to talk to.

    That is a little unfair, most people here do approach brexit from a presumption that staying part of the EU is of benefit but it has rarely ever been approached as though the EU can do no wrong. Also, proper long winded debate and argument that lasts for a protracted time is almost always people of relatively similar views arguing about the tiny difference in opinion.

    The exception to this are trolls, although we did have one poster who tried to discuss his pro-Brexit ways for a time, which got pretty drowned out by the wailing about irrelevant shit from idiots...

    You've pretty much argued against yourself there.

    I think my point was sound. Anyone pro-Brexit just gets drowned out by the wailing.

    Here they are all damned Englishmen, escaped from the European Union following a comedy politician like Farage.
    If you're here to make business and organize for them the journey of hope, hidden under the tears in direction to Calais then it's the right place, but it's still early. They haven't realize again what shit they did.

    Seriously, if you are here to perceive what the British policy is at the moment, yes, it might be a good choice

    Nice bit of casual xenophobia there Stefy.

    You do realise that not everyone voted to leave, don't you? Only 35% of the population.
  • Deleted user 28 August 2017 16:58:54
    @macmurphy yeah, probably. I think I was trying to say that there was some dissenting opinions but they were lumped in with the other idiots. I am not sure it really argues against your point. So it was perhaps a completely wasted load of tosh.

    Bless, it's the old or peasant classes that voted for brexit, not really a lot of those here.

    @Mr_Sleep

    I got your point mate. There are a lot of clever people, and a lot of people willing to concede that the EU needs reform.

    But generally if you take a pro-leave line you have five bright people trying to pick you apart and five others just flinging shit at you.

    I also felt there was a bit of arrogance in that any leaver had to quote statistics and case studies but any remainer point was taken as read.

    I got bored of it; though as I said it was mine of good information and had some really sharp contributors.
  • Deleted user 28 August 2017 17:15:39
    Yeah, I agree and I also became bored of it all after a time. Much like how I am bored of pretty much all political discourse now, brexit and the British media have killed pretty much all my interest in politics in this country.

    It's like about Trump. No one has voted for him but he's now the president. Is it magic?
    The truth is that the majority of the british (or the majority of those who decided to vote) voted for leave. This is the objective reality. Then we can talk about ignorance of people, manipulation of mass media and the internet, fake news etc ...
    But in democracy the majority wins (unfortunately)

    @macmurphy im not sure you ever got any shit for being a leaver. Fourfold did because he deserved it and the same with ghoul. Most of the leavers have come with arguements from the mail and the express though rather than anything of any basis and thats why they get shit imo. We had some mental remainers that got the same treatment too, its just eg doesnt generally suffer fools.

    I don't know, Doc Dawg and his insane brexit apocalypse ramblings are worth a laugh until it's home time.

    This is more shark jumping Stef.

    You flip flop between pidgin and perfect English. I liked the sock but you need to make an effort.

    iirc Ruckly asked if it was illegal to jerk off an underage boy. At least that's what stuck.

    I was shitfaced and my brother said I know it's illegal to look at kiddy porn but what about wanking them off?

    I thought it was pretty funny and posted same. Unfortunately I became Ruckly the molester by default. I've got nothing.

    @Frogofdoom

    I mostly post in the Nintendo threads. If I can shoulder some of Ecosse's burden I'll feel like I'm really contributing.
