Ho ho ho, little forumites! It's early October, and that can only mean one thing. It is time to hand over your address to a total stranger, do some internet stalking of a completely different stranger, buy some weird stuff that you probably wouldn't look at twice at any other time of the year and spend two months living in fear of receiving a piece of hosepipe.

It's EG Secret Santa time!

The Rules

1) You have until midnight on Saturday 18th November to register.

That's over a month. Try not to be late!

2) Post in the thread by all means, but to definitely be included, you need to PM me with the following:

- Your real name
- Your EG username
- An address to which your gift can be sent. Don't mind where it is - doesn't even have to be your house. As long as the Post Office can find it and you can get your parcel from it, it'll do.

3) Aim to spend something in the region of Ł10 - Ł15. Yes, some people spend a bit more. We're not all loaded, so don't feel obliged to splurge. This is all about having a bit of fun and finding something a bit different, rather than something expensive. Whatever it is, wrap it up in a Christmassy stylee, put a card in there and generally get in a Festive groove.

4) All parcels sent in the UK should be sent 'Recorded, signed for'. Prices start at Ł3.90 for Second class parcels, so it's not over the top, but it makes a huge difference to the number of parcels actually reaching the recipient.

5) You will receive your giftee's details as soon as possible after the weekend of 18th November, and from that point you have until Saturday 9th December to get your parcel in the post.

6) If you happen to have to post your parcel overseas, then I'd suggest you aim for a bit earlier than that. Say, Saturday 2nd December.

7) As ever, names are drawn at random, but if you get an overseas recipient, and you've had one in the past few years, I will redraw and give you a UK address instead. Clearly if you live abroad, there's not much I can do about it.

8) As usual, if anybody wants to ask questions of their recipient, t-shirt size, etc, I'm happy to pass messages on.

*Our record for getting parcels to people has been pretty good in the past few years, and on those occasions when stuff doesn't arrive, I believe it's been down to intermediaries / thieving temp posties rather than people just not sending stuff. To the best of my knowledge, the only thing stopping us getting a 100% completion rate last year was Big Swiss missing out on a gift, so assuming he takes part again, can whoever draws his name make an extra special effort to see that he gets something please?

To be fair they weren’t a regular poster, post a couple of times sporadically every month or so. Not for the last four months. Which also made it hard to buy for.

They did post in the thread after receiving their present and didn’t mention it tho
