Andy Signore (creator of screen junkies/honest trailers) has been ousted too, also some Harry Knowles stuff floating around. Must be something about fat neckbeards working in powerful positions...

Im pretty sure I heard about Knowles a while ago.

You've got to stick him in the Cyril Smith bracket of only bring able to molest anyone unlucky enough to get caught in orbit around him

Apparently Steven Seagal is a massive sleaze too.

I never would have seen that coming. It's just completely out of the blue.

The revelations about Stephen Hawking are quite a shock though.

One of the former Pussycat Dolls is claiming the group was actually a prostitution ring. Nothing to this story beyond the tweets yet though:

Can't believe Trump has not mentioned anything about this or mentioned "good people on both sides"

I assumed that he would at least be going after media, Hollywood types for covering it up.

This whole Hollywood scandal is again indicative of the fact that these people that willfully try to get themselves into these positions of power, these people who are obsessed with power, obsessed with being famous, or obsessed with controlling people, they're all fucking psychopaths and sex offenders.

I may be drunk but I can gaurentee you now that anyone in a public position of power is horrible horrible cunt in some way. Especially Lenny Henry

    @Decks

What about Krang? He was certainly in a position of power.

Me and the wife were talking about this earlier.

Is it that those kind of positions attract people who just want to use power over other people OR is it just being surrounded by people who are scared to say no to you because you make everybody hundreds of millions a year means you end up believing your own bullshit and just automatically assume everybody loves you?

    Or a bit of both?

But then Bill Gates isn't a rapist so I guess Weinstein is just a cunt.

There are nice guys and cunts at any level in any profession or job. Niceguy postman and cunt postman. Nice guy tescos worker and utter cunt tesco worker. Taxi drivers, bus drivers, teachers, entertainers, politicians. You get the point now I would think. Cunts vs nice normal people.

Yes that's true but you're being reductive. I'm saying that people that have the motivation to get themselves into these positions of power and celebrity, it's becoming clear that a lot of them are fucking psychopaths and molestorisors. I'm sure large part of it is the corruption of of power and celebrity making relatively normal people into cunts as Chopsen says, but just to want to be these people means theres something wrong with their ego.

Basically what I'm saying is we should rebel.

Senior and managerial positions do attract sociopaths and narcissists, though. That's been known for a long time. Part of it is that they crave the power and validation, another part is that they simply lack the empathy to give a shit about all the people they have to trample on to *get* that power.

You can see it everywhere, from social cliques to politics. And then when you factor in things like Tall Poppy Syndrome and Crab Bucket Mentality...

The new Seinfeld Netflix piece does a little bit on Trump and power and the desire to want to be in that position of power. It was my favourite segment or the show and follows the same train of thought.

It's not just power = narcissist psycho though.

Imposter syndrome is a thing. Lots of people in senior positions all over the place are troubled by a sense of self doubt about their legitimacy in that role. Which probably makes them better suited to be given that responsibility because they are vigilant to the risks. Basically, they have insight but it's labelled a problem. Because actually being in a position of responsibility is stressful, not inherently pleasurable.

It's the "damn straight I deserve all of this" types that are are the worrying lot. Ramble ramble.

You know what spacemonkey: what you write carries a lot less weight in Hollywood than you seem to think it does.

I felt a bit in the dark on this one, while I'm not a gossip chasing tabloid junkie (for one must be wary of fake news in this 21st century & I don't read newspapers anymore), I read the NYT article & if true it was a lot of grim awfulness to digest. I felt really sad afterwards, that those who work to make arts, many whom I admire, also have such hardships in silence with no one to turn to. (Hints have been dropped by some in some hollywood arts in past, if you backtrack to check)

I will not speak ill with name, (some seek my speaking ill in life & I know information can also be manipulated to suit others) but what I will say is that creative people & industries should seek to be & do better & I know many already do so. As a creative person I'm glad that there are still a lot of good people making awesome arts than few possible bad & I hope such creative people won't give up on their art totally. All things & people have their time & days will yet be better & brighter. Be better & do better people & don't be dumb.
Seriously, what the fuck am I reading here?!

Guy sounds like a cunt, but to kick him out before he has had his day in court? By all means throw the book at him when due process happens, but doing so before undermines the justice system.

I've heard about stuff like this going on in the publishing industry, too, and the music industry is a given, I suspect. It's beyond toxic, and it's everywhere, sadly. Let's just hope something actually happens to stop it this time :/
