@mothercruncher You and me both, I've put hundreds of hours into this game on PS4/Vita and PC combined, and I'm not ashamed to say I've never beat it. I've been to the final boss many times but I think part of my brain never wants to complete the game, I don't want to feel like it's over. Stupid but there you go.

I am getting the PC version day 0 but this might actually tempt me to consider a Switch seriously.

Great news, although I do wonder how he'll improve upon the first beyond more world types. Great developer though, so I have faith.

Its a 'perfect' game but a reskin with new worlds and monsters will do just fine. And another vote for ps4/vita cross-buy please. The first one played so well on Vita.

I was worse than useless at the first one. Despite a solid grounding in the rock-hard platformers of the 80s. Still, I expect I�ll get this one too.

I still try to do the daily challenge in Spelunky once a day on either PC or Vita (sometimes both if I have time). Spelunky remains my most played game ever and despite the time investment and having completed the game hundreds of times, I still feel that sting of disappointment when you fail...

Can't wait to see what sadistic deaths await in Spelunky 2.

I rate it very highly. Its genuinely one of the best games I've ever played. I've still never made it to hell. Not yet, anyway!

Do you guys think that the effort made to tell a wee narrative indicates anything for what they might add to the sequel? Sort of an odd game to try and pull at the heart strings in a trailer unless they're going somewhere with it.

I feel the original is excellent but slightly overrated. Was still a go to aeroplane game on Vita though, would absolutely snaffle any version of it up on Switch.

Nothing official yet, but tbh I'd be surprised if it came out before 2019.

@Tonka That's the first I've heard of 3D, but it would certainly help justify a sequel. Not that I'm anything but excited for Spelunky 2, but it really didn't need a sequel.
