Apparently there's a new Need for Speed game coming out in a few days. Not seen a thread or any kind of activity about it here. Obviously, nobody gives a shit! |

Registered 7 years agoI wouldn't mind it if it was good, but they never seem to know what they, or more importantly what the audience wants from the franchise. This just looks like a mix of Fast and Furious and The Run.
I'd take a game where you start in a little shitbox that's falling apart and build your way up to getting decent cars. Bit like the original Underground game, just a whole lot less chavvy. Or even the first 3 Gran Turismo games, but even they've just gone down the Exclusive Car Club game. There's no sense of ownership in car games anymore. -

Registered 8 years agoI don't think has anyone has given a shit since Criterions Most Wanted series. It's been downhill since then. -

Registered 17 years agoI think it looks alright, probably a solid 6/10. I could do with some brainless arcade racing. -

Registered 20 years agoThe Criterion games were amazing. Since then it's been downhill all the way.
They'd have to have some amazing reviews for me to even consider this one.
Edit - got distracted and left this tab open for ages and JamboWayoh already said the same thing

Registered 17 years agoI'm cautiously interested. It's ghost games who did Rivals but also the last NFS (with the cringe FMV). -

Didn't it have a lot of white guys trying to speak in ebonics and seem edgy?

Registered 16 years agoI seen a site compare it to Burnout, probably regret it later on but got it downloading on Origin to give it a try.

Registered 7 years agoLast one I loved was Hot Pursuit on last gen but Again, no sense of ownership. Hated Most Wanted and didn't bother after that. Rivals but that was an empty shell of a game. -

Registered 17 years agoYeah, hot pursuit was the last good one. Such a good racer. They've all been shit since then unfortunately. -

Registered 10 years ago@GoodForm Ghost games already did 2 trash games, probably on the row of the worse NFS games ever, pure trash, not hyped for this new game but I have EA Access so I'm going to give it a try.
Probably the trash drift only handling persists, the open world has no cops on it, and the multiplayer is only 8 people. I bet The Crew 2 will be much better, maybe I will be surprised. -

Registered 16 years agoForza Horizon has killed any ability I have to play this, just cant get on with the handling and nonsense involved in this game, would like to see the rip off of fast and furious sections before I quit but I'm done for the day with it.
ME Andromeda seems more appealling right now. -

Registered 17 years agoSo apparently EA Access members can play this from today?

Registered 14 years agoIts garbage.
They just cant seem to grasp that people just want underground 3 and not this story driven shite anymore. -

Registered 17 years agoYup tried it and could not stomach getting beyond the first police chase. The controls were awful and if anything the people were worse than nfs -

Registered 7 years agoI could stomach horrible cutscenes and story as long as the sandbox was a fun
place to drive in and there's enough exciting races and progression feels right. Remember the first Most Wanted on PS2? The story was completely hammy, but it's probably the best in the series for me.
Just had a few hours on Horizon 3, it's such a good game to just sit down and fuck about in and get a genuine feel for raw power. The racing against planes and trains is properly exciting, I'd take stuff like that in NFS, minus the explosions. -

Registered 10 years agoYup, played on Origin Access.
Lootboxes and RNG for "Progression" - Check
Awful driving - Check
Cliche Story - Check
At least the characters dynamic works kinda well from what i've seen, but I can't stomach the progression system that uses speed cards and lootboxes as the primary way of moving up, and the handling, it feels bad and it drives bad.
Gonna Wait for The Crew 2/FH4 and be hopeful, I feel like it's a little too late to buy FH3 right now, the price is also too fucking high for a almost 2 year old game, it's 60 dollars here still in the microsoft store. -
NFS has pretty much had its day. Rivals was okay, but nothing to sing about and as pointed out above the uber aggressiveness of the cops made it almost unplayable at times. I think it's high time they went back to the drawing board with the series. I'd actually like to see the series look again at what they attempted with NFS Pro with its point to point/lap arcade racing. Strip things back, make gameplay straight forward yet this time make sure it's bags of fun.

It's just opinions. Hell, if I paid attention to reviews I wouldn't have bought and played half the games I own.

@Ragnor I get that, just shocked by how bad the game plays and my opinon clearly doesnt align with those.
