    1) Call of Duty - WW2 [campaign](PS4) 5/10
    2) New Super Mario Bros U [about 33%] (Wii U) 7/10
    3) Mario Tennis Ultra Smash (Wii U) 2/10
    4) The Great Tournament (Android) 7/10

    2) It's not a bad game, and some levels I played were more enjoyable than others, but it wasn't up to the standards of others in the series (SMB3 for example)/ Poor level design (for solo players at least) and controls didn't feel as tight as previous entries. Got a third of the way through and abandoned. 7/10

    3) Awful. Truly awful. Far too easy (a five year old could complete the game in a few hours max, an adult about two hours) and timing/control of shots just isn't required. Only has one arena, graphics are merely okay, controls or overly complicated for what is a simplistic game...just awful.

    4) 5 hours long 'choose an option and turn to page x' type of game. Really enjoyable. Only let down by some terrible grammar/spellink throughout and a lacklustre last third of the book. Well worth a play through though, and it was heading for a 9/10 before the final third of the book.

Currently playing The Banner Saga (first episode). Loving it!

    #1 - 01/01 - South Park: The Fractured But Whole (PS4)
#2 - 08/01 - My Name is Mayo (PS Vita) Platinum
#3 - 21/01 - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch)
    #4 - 21/01 - Broken Age (PS4)
    #5 - 03/02 - Night in the Woods (PS4)
    #6 - 18/02 - Shadow of the Colossus (PS4)

Stunning remake of one of my favourite games. Actually completed a week ago but started a hard run, got halfway through but was fucked out of a trophy (only way to go for it again is to complete it and start another new game) and the 9th one is such a pain in my arse that I thought best walk away now whilst it is still a massive positive and not to let anything like that sour it. Also in regards to the trophy, fuck it, got most and have way too many other games to care about some arbitrary token that actually means nothing really.

I may go back to it here and there but realistically unlikely and therefore considering it finished.

    So onto Golf Story!

#1 Hitman Absolution - Fancied another run, so played it on XO via backwards compatibility. Finished the campaign this evening. 7/10.
#2 Tales from the Borderlands - Again, played this originally on PS4, picked it up for a couple of quid on Xbone and finished it again. 8/10.
#3 Far Cry 3 - Replayed FC4 last year so I fancied a run through in prep for FC5. Loved every minute. Such a great chaotic game. 8/10(XO X - BC)
#4 Metro Last Night Redux- Replayed, fancied it after reading some of Game Informer's Exodus coverage. Still a great game 8/10 (XO X)

Currently playing - Fe (PS4 Pro), SoTC (pro) and MH (pro)
Currently retired - Shadow of War - Bit bored. Will probably return after a few months.

    1. Batman the Telltale Series (PS4) (8/10) PLAT
    A. Episode 1 (6/1/18) (8/10)
    B. Episode 2 (6/1/18) (7.5/10)
    C. Episode 3 (8/1/18) (8/10)
    D. Episode 4 (8/1/18) (7.5/10)
    E. Episode 5 (9/1/18) (8/10)
    2. Yakuza 0 (PS4) (2/2/18) (9.5/10)
    3.Yakuza Kiwami (PS4) (18/2/18) (8/10)

Just under 45 hours on clock, 75% in game completion, 70% trophies. Finished all sidestories (except Amon) and both hostesses. SSS on Majima Everywhere and won all Colosseum fights (full abilities unlocked too). Finished on Normal.

Decent remake of the original game with a few dated elements showing its original age. Was a hit easy on nornal but enjoyed the game and extra sidequests and minigames. Was odd to have no playable arcade game though (I don't count MesuKing). Story is decent enough but the game dies feel small after finishing 0 this year and 5 last year. But it came out at a midrange price point so can't complain. Have Yakuza 6 preordered and Kenzan, Ishin and Dead Souls waiting to be played but will likely have a break from Yakuza after doing two games back to back.

Currently playing Utawarerumono:MoD and Pikmin 3 challenges (may finish campaign at some point too). May try and get Demon Souls finished but depends how stuck I get...

My progress is still poor this year. I must get some shorter games done too.

    Jan 5: Omega Quintet (PC)
    Jan 5: Sonicomi (PC)
    Jan 10: Blue Reflecton (PS4)
Jan 15: Legend of Heroes: Trails in the sky the 3rd (PC)
Jan 21: Legend of Heroes: Trails of cold steel (PC)
Jan 27: Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth (PS4)
    Feb 2: Tokyo Xanadu eX+ (PC, NG+)
Feb 9: Legend of Heroes: Trails of cold steel (PC, NG+)
Feb 12: Nier: Automata (PC, 2B route)
    Feb 14: Lost Dimension (PC)
Feb 21: Legend of Heroes: Trails of cold steel II (PC)

Enjoyed ToCS2 all the way up to the final parts of the game, those parts really disagreed with me though, so much that my initial plan to immediately jump into an NG+ will probably be put on hold for now. Don't feel very motivated when I know that an NG+ will just be another journey towards the same end again :)

    #1: Call of Duty WW2 (campaign): 7
    #2: Blue Reflection: 9.5
    #3: Forza Motorsport 7: 9
    #4: Nioh: 8
    #5: Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus: 6
#6: Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (First Chapter): 8
#7: Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition: 8

Definitely falling behind the curve now. Bulletstorm was fun, but I'm sinking most of my gaming hours right now into Total War: Warhammer 2, which I've already "completed". My other big ongoing game is Super Robot Wars V, which is awesome but huge. This isn't the way to blast through the completions.

I liked the atmosphere and style but probably preferred Little Nightmares over it. Weird little game and worth a playthrough though. I did not get all the secrets though.

Only 4 games in (7?) weeks though... Currently on Ryuu ga Gotkou Kenzan, Utawarerumono - Mask of Deception, Metroid Returns and Call of Cthulhu (DCotE).

Guess this is another game that you're supposed to play multiple times to unlock all endings, but think I'm pretty done with it, at least for now. Not that it's a bad game, found it entertaining enough, but I'd rather go for the next game in the series if I'm going to spend more time being an alchemist any time in the near future :)

    Zelda BOTW Switch

Had the game since launch put about 20 hours in it the first couple weeks and abandoned it until recently.

    The good:

Graphically it is beautiful, I often found myself just admiring the views
The physics are well implemented and play an integral role to everything you do
The shrine variety; requiring different solutions and often allowing more than one way to solve it
The world as a whole, lots of locales different temperatures to contend with
The cooking was a nice touch.
The orchestral songs brought back lots of memories from previous games

    The Bad:

Lack of a story while there it's pretty much go destroy Ganon
Enemy variety the ones that were there were good just could have done with a few more types
The background music jingle that plays every now and then is irritating after a while

    The Ugly:

Climbing in the rain: aaarrrrggghh who thought this was a good idea so frustrating when your halfway up a mountain and it decides to rain I guess I'll just have to sit and wait for it to stop
Weapon durability, I don't mind a durability system when implemented well but the rate at which weapons and shields break in Zelda makes you afraid to use them

Overall a decent game with plenty of highs but 2 major flaws really drag it down in my opinion

    7.5/10

    #6 - 18/02 - Shadow of the Colossus (PS4)
    #7 - 27/02 - Golf Story (Switch)

Very much enjoyed that, pretty much 15 hours long which was about the perfect length for it I think.

No idea what to play next, on holiday for a week soon and Ni No Kuni 2 on the horizon so think I need to put off Yakuza 0 again! Need to look for something relatively short.

    #01 04/01 Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus (PS4) - 7/10
#02 06/01 What Remains of Edith Finch (PC) - 10/10
    #03 02/02 Assassinís Creed Oranges (XO) - 6/10
    #04 08/02 Forza Horizon 3: Blizzard Mountain (XO) - 9/10
    #05 28/02 Persona 5 (PS4) - 8/10

Starts off slow, takes 50 hours to really get out of second gear, but when it gets going those last 20 hours are magnificent. Or at least the story is. The dungeons throughout, especially the last few, are phenomenally tedious. The puzzle sections are routinely infuriating (the mouse/airlock sections spring to mind) and the ending dragged out a bit. On the whole, itís good but not as good as 4.

    #3 01/02 Superhot VR (PS4)
    #4 03/02 VR Worlds (PS4)

#6 10/02 Life is Strange: Before the Storm (PS4)
    #7 02/03 Mafia 3 (PS4)

Good story, great soundtrack, strong combat and stealth systems, but unfortunately some very repetitive gameplay when taking over the rackets. Most of the proper story missions were great so it's a shame that there is so much padding between them. A strong 7/10 game overall.

    Game 7) Quantum Break PC

One of the most poorly paced games I've ever played. Not just the 30min episodes that were insufferable to watch; but the emails littered everywhere that were often several pages long and often contained key story elements (I can't skip reading stuff as I worry I'll miss something important)

The actual gameplay was poor, the platforming was barely serviceable the 'puzzles' consist of a simple rewind rush through and that's it no thought required.
The gunplay is average at best and although the graphics are decent the amount of effects going on can hinder the experience. This is exemplified in the final boss fight which is one of the worst I've ever played. Not only is it far harder than anything prior you can barely tell what's going on. The camera during a certain attack also makes it much more difficult.

    4/10

    1) Inside. 6th Jan. 9/10.
    2) Assassin's Creed: Black Flag. 26th Jan. 9/10
    3) Grow Home. 4th Feb. 10/10
    4) Sunset Overdrive. 4th March. 9/10

This was a great surprise, I had the mistaken impression it was poorly reviewed on release, and only remembered some bitching about it trying a bit too hard to be RADICAL and down with the kids. Actually the writing wasn't too bad and genuinely laugh-out-loud funny in places, the combat was versatile and different, and the movement was absolutely sublime. Haven't felt that cool stringing together bounce to grind to wall-run combos since SSX Tricky. Minus one point for the annoying forced horde mode sections that felt tacked on, but overall a brilliant game that I wish I'd tried sooner.

    4. Grim Fandango Remastered (PS4) (6/8/18) (8/10)

Completed this on launch but had forgotten so much it was pretty much a fresh playthrough. It is a clunky beast at times but I always liked the setting and the remastered visuals work pretty well on this unlike pixel art games. Commentary is a nice bonus too. Some puzzles were very vague but got through it. My progress is still behind the curve though...

Still playing Last Remnant and Utawarerumono 2 in background. Making some progress on Kenzan but being Japanese it is slower progress (even with cheating ablittle with KHHsubs as a timesaver). Thought about gling through Titanfall 2 campaign for first time too. Still not finished Strange Journey :(

Can't help but wonder if it'd been better to focus on one part of the game at the time (since it's split into 4 volumes) spending a bit more time doing "post game" content of each volume and then taking a break with another game before moving on to the next part. As it was now, I felt like I might've missed a few things by immediately jumping to the next volume more or less as soon as I reached the end of the current one while at the same time I was pretty tired of the repetitive nature of the game by the end of it.

Of course, it didn't help that I hadn't played the previous games or watched the animes, but still, while I felt like I missed a few things, at the same time, it wasn't anything that seemed critical to the main story.

This could be really good, but even by the standards of Telltale games itís janky as fuck. I know graphics arenít important, but when theyíre so bad as to be genuinely distracting at times then they become important.

Very decent game (write-up over in the Recently Completed Games thread), but also a long one. With most of the other games I'm playing at the moment also being long, I'm falling badly off-track for the 52-in-52 challenge.

It's good but it's definitely confirmed that strategy games just aren't for me.
