    @DangerousDave_87

    Apparently they're working on other projects and don't want to divert staff to the patch.

    That’s appalling. I played the demo on Switch and it was clearly fucked. How could they even release it in that state?

    They deserve to get burned. If they’ll abandon this version who is to say the next version on any given platform won’t also be humped?

    I don't think its unplayable, but the disparity between portable play and docked is certainly frustrating.

    Note that they haven't officially confirmed this, which is why I said allegedly. Some guy emailed to ask about the patch and they allegedly said they don't want to do it as it's too much work.

    Also, does this mean I can get back one of my 10 game spots? 😁 Although I'm going for 5 now rather than 10.

    @Duffking

    I see. A poor show indeed.

    It's been 3 months since it's release. You'd imagine if they were in a hurry they'd have at least kept us posted during that time. Sad times.

    How is the other pinball game that came out at the same time?

    I'm not sure what performance is like, but isn't that one based on real life tables? That doesn't mean it isn't going to be any good, but it'll certainly feel lacking in terms of variety and out right craziness.

    Zen have never been good at patching their game, relying instead on the goodwill they build up by transferring purchases between versions.

    Stern pinball plays great in handheld and docked. I love zen pinball but they can fuck off now with that attitude. It plays awful in portable mode imo. Poor show indeed.

    Have they fixed the leaderboard on this yet?

    A surprising turns of events (from the Zen blog):

    The community has spoken, and as we pride ourselves in doing at Zen Studios, we are listening. Zen is happy to confirm that we will in fact release a patch to bring all Pinball FX3 content to 60 FPS in handheld mode on Nintendo Switch this summer. The time between now and then will be spent achieving 60 FPS in handheld mode and 1080p Full HD in docked mode for all 30+ tables in the library, plus testing and then publishing submissions to Nintendo.

    I look forward to purchasing more tables (once the update has been implemented).

    The word on the information superhighway is that the Switch version has been patched and the frame rate in handheld mode is better. I haven't tried it myself to verify.

    Excellent, handheld mode was unplayable for me before, time to buy some tables.

    I'm really curious to give it a go now. I didn't have any issues in handheld mode before so for it to be even better is great news :)

    After a quick go, feels much snappier in handheld mode. I got noticeable flipper lag before, and tracking the ball when things got fast or hectic was a nightmare.

    Tried out Son of Zeus and it's significantly improved in handheld mode. A good update though arguably it's how it should have been upon release.

    Let the high score fun begin!

    I wasn't too fussed about docked performance, but the game looks a lot better now, doesn't it? I've yet to try portables mode, but I'm certainly encouraged to pick up done more tables come pay day.

    The Bethesda and Universal packs are pretty good if you're looking for new tables.

    It really is quite an impressive jump in performance. As I say, I'm a fairly casual player so 30fps was fine with me, but it's like night and day. Not sure I could go back now. I'm glad they reconsidered leaving it as it was :)
  • Deleted user 4 May 2018 19:47:18
    As others have said im pretty impressed with this update. The difference in Portable mode is night and day. Looks so much sharper as well. I might get the Bethesda tables...are they decent?
