The general public are so obsessed with the big crashes, they fail to notice that the floor price consistently rises over the years. Like at the moment, critics are rolling around laughing at the "death of bitcoin", despite the fact it's up over 50% from just 6 months ago and many hundred percent from a year plus ago.

That last bounce up from 28k looks like it's about to fail.

Congrats to any HODLers of QNT, assuming they're taking profit now.

Binance ordered to stop some of its activity in the UK

Basically spot trading is still fine, but margin and options trading will have to stop soon on Binance.

Probably a good thing in the long run that there's more regulation coming in, helps Bitcoin gain legitimacy if the crypto market becomes less of a wild west free for all. But if this is just the start of a wave of regulatory action then I'd expect some short term pain.

Worth pointing out that this isn't Binance dot com, it's related to services provided by Binance dot uk (which hasn't actually launched yet).

British Twitter is having a field day with this perfectly benign bit of crypto news for some reason I can't quite put my finger on:

(filthy joke deleted, probably in too bad taste)

Setting aside the apt naming... what a fucking mess of a product description.

"Nonce’s NFT fractionalization protocol allows a community to form around NFTs and opens them up to use different financial legos of decentralized finance which further allows users to unveil the NFT market."

    You don't say...

Mattel, of all companies, kept spamming me the other week to invest in Hot Wheels NFTs. The world has literally gone mad.

From what I read of the FCA decision, I thought that spot trading on Binance was 'acceptable'.

Anyone with money on Binance better get them out of there at the soonest. Even the Cayman Islands don't want anything to do with them.

It still is acceptable, as is futures trading on binance dot com. However, after the recent FCA ruling regarding their UK subsidiary it also applied to their fiat on-ramp system which used ClearJunction (which is a FCA regulated institution). So Binance can't use it as far as I know and hence no GBP deposits.

You can still use Revolut, but need to convert GBP to EUR and then transfer to binance via SEPA.

Or deposit GBP into Coinbase, convert to some crypto like LTC, XLM, USDT etc, then send to Binance.

Looks like I got in at exactly the wrong time. I had a fun couple of weeks watching my small amount of MATIC go up and up, then up and down, then sold for a small profit, bought back in after it went down a bit, then it tanked.

I'd always resigned myself to losing the whole lot and I didn't bet my house or anything (more like the price of a new console, say), but this has definitely gone from "I'll check every day and smile if the numbers are bigger" to "I'll try to forget all about this, and hope for a pleasant surprise in 6 months"

I'm a Boomer. Because I have Google open most of the time I search and click rather than put in the url.

Dogecoin co-founder not a big fan of cryptos.

    https://nairametrics.com/2021/07/15/dogecoin-breaks-below-20-cents-as-co-founder-slams-crypto-industry/

“After years of studying it, I believe that cryptocurrency is an inherently right-wing, hyper-capitalistic technology built primarily to amplify the wealth of its proponents through a combination of tax avoidance, diminished regulatory oversight, and artificially enforced scarcity,”

    he's not wrong

BTC wealth disparity is a joke, anyone genuinely thinking it will displace traditional currencies needs their head checked.

    https://bitinfocharts.com/top-100-richest-bitcoin-addresses.html

0.5% of bitcoin holders own 85% of all bitcoin.
