Yeah, I'm not sure. I threw £50 at it for the lols and it's now £700. It's got 700,000 holders, which for how long it's been live must be some sort of record, and there's a lot of marketing and ideas/AMAs from the development team.

If it is a scam it's absolutely genius.

A friend of mine bought 50 bucks worth of Dogecoin back when it started. It is now apparently worth over 10,000, but he can't access it because he can't remember his password.

Yeah he's done the works, putting it through password crackers and all that. He's considering hiring some computers designed for that specific purpose, but at some point it's not going to be worth the effort.

Well yeah, but the whole thing is worth, what, $40 billion now? More? Obviously it is really dumb, and it will all come crashing down at some point, but ideally my mate will be able to cash out before that happens.

There was a segment on the radio yesterday where they talked to three people who had lost their Bitcoin passwords or the hardrive they were on.

One guy had 7500 BTC on a harddrive some where in a landfill. He wasn't too happy about that. But the lady who forgotten the password to 50 BTC was pretty relaxed about it.

They said it's estimated that roughly 20% of all bitcoins are dead.

Such a genius replacement of money. Banking on the moon.

That landfill boy has been in the news for months. Wants the whole landfill dug up or something.

He's probably made it all up and is just doing it for the attention. His end goal is to be on The Joe Rogan show.

Bitcoin has broken out of a descending triangle pattern to the upside so I expect the downward move on the weekend to get reversed for maybe one last hurrah to a new high.

ETH is accelerating to the upside, too, and once that peaks the party is probably over - mirroring what happened at the end of 2017.

Probably a good time for people to cash out their initial investments if they haven't already.

    Err... me?

Drawing on charts with me crayons

Ethereum has made a more aggressive move:

    https://www.tradingview.com/x/ItPAm5Zr/

Plus moves on the weekend in Bitcoin are frequently reversed during the week when institutional investors/traders are more active.

My opinion is that BTC is going to back to 60k where it was on Friday afternoon then maybe goes higher after playing out a range.

I'm a total amateur at this so feel free to ignore me, probably best you should. Except the taking out the money you initially invested bit, if you have any in crypto, so you at least break even.

Edit: And for full disclosure - I've only got £60 left in crypto which I put on a long trade for ETH at 2200 USD once it broke to the upside from that triangle in conjunction with that momentum indicator you see in the images crossing to the upside on the 1hr, 2hr, 3hr and 4hr charts.

I had safemoon very early on and got rid of of it when it started its first big plummet. Checked my trustwallet yesterday and what i think was about 300 quidís worth would today have been worth .... 19k US. Probs should have HODLíd.

Iím pretty relaxed about it as itís been on a par with every other mistake Iíve made. All you had to do was pick not shit coins and even if you got in a month ago you could easily have 2-4x your in.

As regards Safemoon one friend put in about 3 grand at the start and its now worth 120 grand. Crazy money being made and im genuinely not sure how it ends. The team is not anonymous, they have a good white paper and great plans. But the
Lexponential gains from the last few days are just
not sustainable. It relies on new buyers - in much the same as any crypto does and much like how Doge has pumped - but when the Tik Tok surge passes there just wonít be enough people to buy these bags at these prices.

Iíve told him to get out but he thinks its sustainable. To be fair he now has 120k (and i think thatís sterling) and i could have had about 14k sterling so one of us is a massive dick and so far its not him.

Reference the bull market no one knows when it
ends, and im not convinced weíll see previous drops as it becomes increasingly ingrained in business and society. It just wonít be the steady gainer it has been. Most people think this bull run ends in September so my plan is to look to take some profits around July time and then see if i can get out safely when it ends with the rest. I plan to stay long term in Crypto though. If the market drops quickly and doesn't correct I'm going to hold till next time, even if it is a few years. Iíd just rather try and sell reasonably high and use that money to buy things up in the fallow years.

I do hope he's prepared to pay tax on all that. He'll have to do a self assessment and he will have lost all his personal non-taxable allowance

Get a cheeky wee bank account opened in Gibraltar.

In reality though, probably just move most of it to bitcoin.

Iím thinking of getting the password tattooed around the rim of my anus when I buy in. That should be a, relatively, secure and private area with minimal exposure. Though reading it at the car dealership purchase might be a challenge.

I donít think heíll have as much to move now sadly. Safemoon in freefall.

Well he only got to that point by holding in the first place. I can relate that it's pretty hard to pick a jumping off point, and I've missed out on selling at some peaks too.

If it's guaranteed to plumet then GTFO, but there are rarely any guarantees with crypto, just people making guesses that may or may not come true.

    /edit
Just talking about crypto in general, I haven't been keeping up to speed with Safemoon at all.

Maybe its me but I usually set a limit on my ceiling of returns and stick to it. Sure i could have made more money (kicking myself a little bit over cashing out in December on bitcoin) but I'd rather have cash in the bank than be greedy. 120k in liquid cash is a life changing amount of money.
